What should I do next with my human team?

Post by FlameKnight »

Humans: The Loningbruck Lions

Blitzer, Dodge, Stand Firm, Guard 36 SPP
Blitzer, 2 SPP
2 Blitzers, 0 SPP
Thrower, 2 SPP
Thrower, 0 SPP
Catcher, 0 SPP
Catcher, +1AG 15 SPP
6 Linemen, 0 SPP
Lineman, Kick, 12 SPP
Lineman, Niggle, 2 SPP

6 Re-Rolls, 1 Trophy Re-Roll
16 Fan-Factor
3 Cheerleaders
1 Apothecary
5K in treasury
TR 172

I'm probably going to drop the Niggled lineman and buy an ogre next, but then what?

EDIT: Hey, just noticed this is topic 10,000! Do I get something special?

Not quite sure what you´re looking for... Imo your team looks fine if you sack the niggler. Add the Ogre and I would say you´re sorted mate!

What I can read from your roster though is that you tend to run the ball too much! Your thrower is a bit un-developed for a team with a 172 TR. Human strength is being able to play a deadly running, blocking AND passing game... Develop some more plays so that you´re not crippled when you lose your key players - ie - that +1AG catcher and blodge, SF blitzer...

GL!

Yeah, overall I'd say you need to spread the SPP around more.

I'd focus on getting guard for the BZs, leap for the AG+ CA, and maybe block/dauntless for the other.

I know, I do tend to run the ball too much, and my blitzer is my only really good player, it's just I get the opportunity to blitz the ball carrier with the blitzer, take the ball, run him as fast as I can towards the end zone alone and hope he doesn't turn to jelly. It sounds kinda risky, but it's won me all of the games that I've played.

Thats great! ... just so that your are aware of the danger in not developing plays and players to fit your strengths... Scoring in defense is always great, but after your blitzer secures the ball, try to pass or hand it to another player. I know its blatantly obvious, but in the heat of battle most people forget even the simplest things!

Also - take some more chances! You have a lot of re-rolls and you could change your priority list a wee bit - ie - instead of plundering for the TD at the first given opportunity, make before-hand at least all 2d blocks to get a chance of a cas and SPP´s.

What Nagash said.... :)

Also, your main blitzer type (36spps) should have another skill, not sure if you left it off your post or not....
