i would go with only one thrower and pump ff to 7 ..

exept that, this one is right the one i ll use in a league play . Starting with 12 players will keep your roster full if you get casualties, KO, or sent off.

First thing is to get another Blitzer. They are the backbone of a Human team IMO.

Here is what I started with:

4 Blitzers
1 Thrower
2 Catchers
4 Linemen
3 RR
8 FF

First purchase is the App and then an Ogre, if that suits your playingstyle.
A thing to consider is if the team is meant to perform fast (short league) or if it should be designed to be strong over a longer period of time.

I usually start:

3 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linemen
3 RR
FF 7

or

2 Blitzers
3 Catchers
1 Thrower
6 Linemen
3 RR
FF 9

TeLef0n0 is right, Blitzers are the stars of the human team, without doubt.

My personal favourite lineup is

Ogre
2 Blitzers
2 Catchers
1 Thrower
5 Linemen
9 FF
3 TRR

I like having the Ogre early on so he skills up quickly - also he's a good damage absorber to soak up blocks from bashing teams, leaving the rest less exposed.

When I saw it I was convinced. (9 games played 7w-2l, td 18-8)

1st buy apo then the blitzers

But if you don't have an ogre fig...

I'd mark one of the throwers differently, count him as a lineman, and bump the FF upto 7. Other than that, there's not much you can do differently other than drop a RR for FF9 and 10k in the bank.

I've tried several setups, and found that the one straight from the box is great if you want to try to win as many games as possible right from the start. This setup just has no weak points.

Two throwers is good for two reasons:
a) The risk that one gets KOd or worse.
b) Two throwers in the backfield gives you better opportunities to get the ball where you want it, since you want to stay with quick passes.

2 Blitzer
2 Throwers
2 Catchers
6 Lineman
3 Re-Rolls
9 FF

I think the first post is miscalculated?

From the original roster I would ditch a lineman and bump FF to 9 and save 10 k. Winnings following the first game should be 30K minimum, 40 if you win which gives you the Apo early. Roll a 6 when you win the game and you can buy a lineman and and the Apo.

Alternatively drop to 1 thrower, buy an apo and have FF 8. This is how I last started a human team. Only a game and a half played so far, first game roster works well but is vulnerable if you suffer injuries (as are all 11 man starting rosters).
