That's because you made the choice not to score with your WDs. But at the end of the day, isn't he the best guy available to bring TDs to your team, unless you have earnt enough to buy catchers?
- Assuming you've adopted the traditionally 'safe' starting roster of 1 WD, 10 linemen, 2 rerolls and 8 ff, with an apothecary as your first purchase, and ideally your other WD as your second one.
Of course, if your team is already developed etc, you can get MB for your WD if he already has an established role as a blitzer... so long as your team scores TDs easily enough as it is.

I think of cause a MB play in every migth be very usfull , but i think Guard would be the most important skill for Elfs. so dont waste the first dubble on a MB.
At least i think when i play that expensiv Team like Wood Elfs i would think about how i can make my players not to die such often and their are 4 skills i need : Block , Dodge , Side Step , Guard
And my High Elfs winning the last 2 Fumbbl-Faction champion-ship with much Block Dodge Guard Side Step an no MB make me think to be rigth

...well i still believe that a Tackle MB is a perfect linebacker.
yes i have one but i also have 3 guards.
But this linebacker is really usefull against elfs, skavens, lezards..
guard is good against low/strong teams.

Guard or MB ?
Well,
Guard is a quite tactical skill, that gives you you more options on your players setup.
Although, Putting it on a WD means you intend to use it as a an assist, whereas the WD should be the one hitting.
MB is not so tactically effective, since it only increases the chances that an injury occurs, but it is the skill to set on the guy hitting - that is to say the WD -.
IMHO, I'll set a MB on th WD, and try to have some Guards on the linemen.

with them
1 Lineman: Block, Kick, Dodge
3 Lineman: Block, Tackle, Dodge
1 Lineman: Leader (on first double in team), Block, Dodge
* Lineman: Guard (on doubles), Block, Dodge
2 Lineman: Dauntless (on doubles), Block, Dodge
1 WD: MB (on doubles), Tackle, Strip Ball, Side Step
1 WD: MB (on doubles), Strip Ball, Tackle, Side Step
* Catcher: MA (hoping to get 10), Block, Sprint, Sure Feet
* Thrower: Block, Accurate, Sure Hands, Strong Arm
I always keep AG on 11 and ST on 12 (any type), and hoping for a lot of doubles too
I'm starting with:
