hey guys... league is about to start here... and im playin DE. heres da thing though... i dont know what to start with...

im thinkin eather of the 2 posted in the starting teams thred... but i dont really know wich... i really want the 2 blitzers, but i woudl also liek the 9ff..
my first game is vs a pretty bad zon player... and my 2nd game is vs a half decent skaven player...

what do you guys think i should do?

I would go with the second roster. Because I wished last season with darkelves I wished to have the FF 9. It saves you from many problems having constant income.

I think it should be 10k left over in the second roster. Both rosters have their merits IMO.

Or alternatively, if you are short on lineelf minis (like myself) you go for a real challenge and play with 3 blitzers and 1 RR.

I went with the first roster (2 blitzers) and had quite a bit of success. My first time playing Dark Elves and now they have become my favorite offical race. Until we get an Ogre roster.

starting a new season in league this week with that roster 2 option...first game against 240 tr lizzy team. not as bad as you might think...he's got a few niggles and i'm taking virus so it's effectively 100tr vs 150tr with me getting 4 handicap rolls.

i went with roster 1... although one of my blitzers was KO'ed the ENTIRE game thanks to a first turn pitch invasion LOL! i still woulda lost it with ff 9 tho... so o well... but i ended up with a 2-0 win.... sept next game is vs vampires... ouch.....

roster 1 would be good if your team is joining an experienced league as you can get plenty of money from the other teams FF and the other blitzer could help out.

anyway a couple of wins and your ff is bound to rise isnt it?

just for fun... my flatmate made a highelf team and started with 2 DW, 2 LW and a thrower etc and had no rerolls and played 16 games with them... his record was 11 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses!!! his catcher is amazing! (Catch, +AG, Leap, Pass Block, Block, Dodge)

Why are there no Whitch Elves in these Team Rosters.

My preference for a starting teams are,
(If the game goes bad this one really hurts. Fouling will help you Lots after all we are evil)
1 WE
2 Blitzers
7 Line Elves
2 RR's
9 FF
10 k treasury

OR

(thir one is safer but the exra rr is desireable)
1 WE
2 Blitzers
8 Line Elves
1 RR's
8 FF

Kinda Silly but I thought it would work well to start a 3 day comp with.

What is your thoughts?

I started with a similar roster last season. It went not too bad... But due to the fragility of Elves I would now prefer a roster with less position players and a higher fan factor for the start.
I have now after 16 games with that team still just a roster of 14 players, because I didn't earn much money from the start.
IMO Lineelves are able to do a good job in the first few games, till the money comes in.

So I definitely would go with a high FF 'cause you'll need the money.

Well I only count 10 guys in this one, so that's illegal.

I have seen this one work, but you have to be lucky. I am not that lucky.

For a tourney, maybe, but I would still want 2 RR's Downgrade one of those Blitzers to a thrower and drop your FF to 1. And pray you don't need FF for a Kickoff.

As for leagues, my personal preference, is to hold off on Witch elves. They tend to be targets early on, and since the witches start off with Frenzy and no block, they can be more harm to themselves then to others.

I think he made the right choice. That is the roster I have had the most success with, but I do wish for either 1 more RR or 2 more FF, it is a very tough decision to give up Block and extra movement for either of those.
