Chaos vs. Nurgle?

Post by narkotic »

I was of the firm belief that Nurgle's Totters are weaker than normal Chaos on both short and long-term (especially on long-term) due to lack of an apothecary and ST4 Ball handlers.

Now, I browsed the Fumbble statistics, and Rotters have performed far better than Chaos on all TR ranges: they won more often and have a considerable higher win percentage.

How comes? (so far there are 350 Rotter teams vs. 1100 chaos teams on fumbble, maybe that's the solution?)

I think it's the volume. Also the Open division gets a lot more games than the experimental division (DivX to us cool kids). That means that there's a lot of scrubs who just want to wreck teams rather than playing ball and they can get a lot more games in Open. People playing Rotters in DivX are probably more likely (per capita, 350 x 1100, remember?) to be playing to win with the team rather than just smashing folks for fun (in Open, where there are more opponents and no Rotters).

Not an indication of the folks on FUMBBL at all, just an extreme case of it. The Open format lets people play how they want, you know?

I think early nurgle would loose to an early choas team on average...

but I think early nurgles would be better agianst early AG teams then chaos is...

That's why nurgles look bad compared to chaos, but may do better in a league format.

I think nurgle's team is a great (unclean) one against AG team, as I have played against skavens and totally panicked them just having 2 FA players (a beast and a rotter). No hand off/short passes in the middle of the field ...

I even managed to put my beast next to a gutter runner and tied him with tentacles : priceless .

The two problems of the team are :
* rotters will evolve very slowly, as sauri and BOB
* no apoth, so you better start with a high FF, playing a lot of beastmen and protect your "gifted" ones. It might be even more profitable to get spikes (of FA) instead of claw :)

A hypothesis is that the Rotters' lack of an apo makes for a much worse develeopment. This won't affect the FUMBBL data, since teams there won't be matched against other teams that have played about the same number of matches, but instead against team with similar TR/TS.
