Wild Animal - again

Post by Furelli »

A small change but one that might balance this nightmare of a NegaTrait.

Wild Animals are extremely violent creatures. If you declare any action other than Block with a Wild Animal, roll a D6. Add 2 to the dice roll if the action is a Blitz. On a roll of 1-3, the Wild Animal stands still and roars in rage instead of completing the action, and the action is wasted. Note that the Wild Animal no longer has to move first and that he can now use assists.

change it to an add 1 and i'm on board. add 2 would put them on par with ogres plus free blocks.

I could live with the +1, doesnt make sense that if no one is near them, that they just scream in rage.

I would prefer "if there's a friendly player in an adjacent square, the roll is 2+, but on a 1, the wild animal blocks the friendly player" (for all actions).

However, I would prefer removal of negatraits even more.

Ok, so how about:

Wild Animals are extremely violent creatures. If you declare any action other than Block with a Wild Animal, roll a D6. Add 1 to the dice roll if the action is a Blitz or a Foul. On a roll of 1-3, the Wild Animal stands still and roars in rage instead of completing the action, and the action is wasted. Note that the Wild Animal no longer has to move first and that he can now use assists.

WHY?! How often do you waste or risk the use of your BG in a foul?? +2 to the roll and I'm happy. Why not put them nearby Ogres. Still ogres will be more maneuvrable. The first suggestion was great.
Then all we need do is remove General access from BG's and return pro to a skill.
I still agree if there were a better balance idea Negatraits should be removed. I would prefer all BG's to be more reliably useless (i.e. no rolls).
