Ahhh, the power of shadowing

Post by Blackbird »

How could I have missed it? For units with high move, 8 plus, like the werewolf or the gutter runner, this skill is insane against all but the total passing offense. and even then it's great. my query is what are some of the best ways to take advantage of the skill? where do you set the player with shadowing on the field for kickoff? what other skills do you give him?

Just on first thoughts, this is a skill that forces the opponent both to blitz your player with Shadowing everytime, or put several takle zones around, to not let him pass through the line.

On a blitz result in the kickoff, i see shadowing players go and put a takle zone at the other team throwers. On normal play, i see them trying to get close to catchers, or blitzers, so they must dodge several times.

But i would not play them deep ... the earlier they get into play, the earlier your opponent is in trouble.

You need sidestep, otherwise the shadowed player blitzes you, does not follow up and moves away.

Diving tackle and tackle make a shadower a nightmare, especially if he's shadowing a catcher w. Ball.

Prehensile tail seems nice as well. Give shadowing to a rat ogre.
Either your opponent tries to run and risks getting tripped by the tail or stays for the beating in which case you don't have to make the WA roll to get to hit someone.
