Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Don't understand a particular rule or just need to clarify something? This is the forum for you. With 2 of the BBRC members and the main LRB5/6 writer present at TFF, you're bound to get as good an answer as possible.
During a gathering yesterday were several players formed a new league, a new player argued that:
You cannot block and blitz the same player in the same turn. Ie - Longbeard blocks human lineman => gets push (dwarf player not satisfied so..) => Dwarf Blitzer blitzes the human lineman to finish him off...
Imo it doesn´t say anywhere that you cannot perform a block and a blitz against the same enemy player in the same turn, but i couldn´t find anything in the rulebook...
There is no restriction on how many times you may block a player the only block restrictions are 1 Blitz per teamturn and you may not block prone or stunned players.

the text is open, the dwarf player (in your example) can perform what actions he wants within the rules for those actions. His targets are his to decide.
lets be extreme here
player only has one player on the field after much bashing by dwarf player
block - result = push
blitz - result = pow
foul
all of these could be used against the one player by the dwarfs team, if the dwarf lined his players up correctly he could push him from block to block before blitzing him into the crowd if he so desired.
never seen an arguement of that nature before.

Me neither - thats why I´m a bit startled by it...
But since it does say specifically - isn´t there a valid argument to be made?

The rule about blocking says you can block an adjacent opponent. Since it doesn't say "an ajacent opponent who hasn't been blocked in this turn" it is very clear that any adjacent opponent will do. The same applies to the block part of a Blitrz action.
Anyone who suggests that if the rule book doesn't specifically permit repeated blocks/blitz against the same opponent it must be forbidden is a rules lawyer and should be expelled from the league immediately.
