Following up leaves you a target for a block (if opponent is not down) not following up leaves yer cage standing ..
So in a way, Norse fight like elves :o

but with the new PO isn't MB a better skill choise for Norse blitzers? To me the disadvantage of lying prone seems to great, when you only get a normal reroll on armour. Even with jump up.

You are right, the skill picks for a Norse Blitzer have changed from PO then MB then consider something else to MB, then PO or consider something else with the 2003 Rules Review.

depends on what armour value you are up against. against av7 it's still around 70% chance to break with armor rr.

obviously you aren't gonna be breaking av9 very much so it's proably best not to use it against them.

Mighty Blow is always better than Piling On, but the combo of PO & MB is very tempting for Norse blitzers.

just to be sure: so you can use MB on both AV-rolls, if you fail the first, and then PO? (when you've picked up both skills of course)

You can use Mighty Blow only once, BUT if you fail the first AV Roll, there's no need to use Mighty Blow. As you can decide to apply it after the dice roll you'll never end up in a situation where you have to use it on both AV rolls.

Just to get sure. I have to declare that i ll use piling on and lay my player down before i make the first AV Roll, right?
Or may i decide to pile on after i have failed the first AV?

no - you can chose to use piling on after making the first av roll

if you fail to break, then decide if you want to belly flop!
