bull centaur doubles on 2nd skill

Post by harald »

First skill: Block
Second skill: Stand Firm or Frenzy

I do not have two bull centaurs yet and I do employ the power bull centaur running game which I thought would feature dual block/surehands later on complemented by Break Tackle bulls.

Now I rolled a double...

Since the chaos dwarf team lack real blitzers I am thinking that actually Frenzy could be more of a help than the ever-never-failing-dodger.

What are everyone else's opinion?

Mv 6-9 and Str4 combine great with Frenzy...

Dodge, combined with Stand Firm and next skill break tackle.

Frenzy is pretty scary, but diffcult to use (and dangerous without SF or Sidestep, both require a second double). Dodge or Standfirm are the safer options.

I'd go for SF, because the protection factor of Dodge is not so important on a STR4, AV9, thickskull player. The Dodge RR is important, but you'll have BT soon (block first skill, tsk, tsk, doesn't anybody listen? ) and then most dodges are 2+ anyway. SF however, offers you a great cage breaking option, 5+ (maybe) with team RR to get into a standard cage and no turnover if you fail and additionally opens up the widezones again no matter how many frenzy players the opponent has.

I would recommend Dodge (because it combines so beautifully with Break Tackle, which would be the next skill choice).

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Since you already went the block route I would take Frenzy, next skill would be strip ball. Make him your blitzer and the next BC make your ball carrier.
break tackle, sure hands, dodge on doubles. Hopefully you can get your next BC soon.

Take Stand Firm. It is vital on a good CD team (IMHO). Frenzy is nice, but not nearly as useful as Stand Firm is. Frenzy is for blocks...Stand Firm is for defence and movement. The sidelines is your playground now, and got to love the option to dodge without a fail...With Break Tackle as next skill your mobility is SCARY!

Would you recommend developing two different bull centaurs, like one blocker with block frenzy mighty blow and stuff and one ball carrier with bt, sure hands, dodge? Or would you rather have two hitters and care for the ball with your gobboes?

Dodge, it is good on both O and D. It combines nicely with both block and break tackle so with a team re-roll to get the ball/hit he can be BOTH a runningback and a blitzer. Hard time knocking him down, and hard time stopping him from getting to the end zone/ball carrier.

IMHO: Chaos Dwarf Linmen were born to have SF (and Guard), so leave it to them, let your bulls run free.

Um, Stand Firm kicks quite large amounts of ass on offence and defence.
