Human Blocker - Need Some Feedback
I'd like to make a blocker position to go with the 2. ed mini's. Here's what i was thinking:
5/3/2/9 Block, Tackle/Guard at 70-80K, can choose general & strength. I'm not really sure if i should choose tackle or guard. Guard seems more fitting for someone who's a regular on the LOS.
Any comments?

ag eh?
i think ag2 is reasonable - afterall, these guys would be the hulking brutes of the team - but if theyre only s3 then i see your point genno...
i would go for
4/3/2/9 Block, Tackle - 80k
but dont ask me why

thanks for the feedback guys, i'll try to explain why i went for those stats.
MA 5 - Due in part to the heavy armour they carry, plus being as wide as you're tall doesn't excactly make you any faster.
ST 3 - While they are indeed the strongest members of the team, they're nowhere near as strong as a black orc or a chaos warrior.
AG 2 - Even though they're not particularly clumsy, the combination of heavy armour and lack of training in ball control pulls them down here.
AV 9 - This is where all that armour comes in handy
Like most other human players they have to make up for what they lack in the physical department by training hard and learning more skills. I figured two skills would be fitting, block seemed obvious to me, but it might not be. tackle and guard are the only others that seemed right.
It's not that i'm all decided on these stats, they just make sense to me
Please keep the comments coming

Humans have 4 blitzers, 4 catchers, 2 throwers and an ogre already.
Also: Blockers, IMO, are linemen that have developed. I'd prefer just calling sufficiently developed linemen blockers.
If you insist on having blockers, one should be able to trade them for blitzers. I.E. a human team could have any number of blockers and blitzers as long as their total number does not exceed 4.
I prefer:
5 3 2 9 Block, Tackle Gen/ST
as the human blocker. Price 60K. Why so low? Then they'll be a more tempting option, especially early on, compared to the expensive blitzers.
Definitely no Guard for them.

so you're aiming for someone who is built a bit like Zug's younger, quicker, wimpier brother
I would say 5 3 2 9 Block Mighty Blow to keep them away from being a longbeard clone
or 4,3,3,9 Block Mighty Blow this would fit with the armour and maintain the Human innate agility
Maybe his name could be Plug.....

A quick look at some reference material:
Mighty Zug (Human Blocker)
Lineman 6/3/3/8 50.000 Human (Rookie)
Lineman 4/5/2/9 120.000 Human, Block, Mighty Blow (Super Star)
Lets see... my suggestion is:
Blocker 5/4/2/9 100.000 Human, Mighty Blow
This guy is tough and well protected. The weight of the extra armour slows him down and makes him clumsy. Unskilled but powerful.

I like the idea of 0-4 blitzers and blockers. I've just got hold of a few 2nd ed Humans and I'm using them as Chaos Humans. No beardy rules, just Humans painted in chaos colours, but I'd love to make use of the blocker figures.
So how about - 5/3/2/9 - Tackle, Strip Ball | General, Strength - 90K
This wouldn't give them Mighty Blow (something for St5 players), or block (that's for blitzers) or make them too powerful (St4). Maybe Strip Ball shouldn't be there though, I'm not sure.
It would make a good player that could sit 'backfield' (as blockers should do, NOT on the LOS!) and help slow opposition down. Tackle and Strip Ball seems an excellent combo for a backfield defender. Whilst AG2 stops him being able to run people down and then grab the ball, he'd need backfield help to retrieve it (lineman).
Throw this in with the idea that you can take 0-4 Blitzers and Blockers and I think you've got a winner.
I'd use them.

Geno i like your idea, but could you please explain why you feel a blocker belongs in the backfield? I'm not saying you're wrong, i just always thought a blocker would best put in the middle of the action, where he can really put his size and strength to use?
Btw mestari, i used to just upgrade linemen to blockers, but i've wanted to bring back the position ever since i switched to 3. ed., same with kickers. Guess it's the same reason i call my gutter-runners catchers...
And the idea of 0-4 blitzers or blockers is great

Sure I can explain. My idea is this. Your LOS would be taken up generaly with Lineman, widezone's with blitzers and catchers whilst the Blockers stay backfield. They're there as a 2nd line of defence for if/when your opponent breaks through, hence the tackle/strip ball skill.
That's just the way I play with them mind you, but as a whole I think it works. If you dumped them on the LOS then they'd get battered and the Strip Ball skill will be redundant, who's going to put their ball carrier on the LOS for you to use SB on? If they stay backfield (in a pair) then between them they can cover for where the ball carrier might break through to.
Does this make sense?
All it is, is defensive playing. Which I think Blockers should excel over other people at.
Lineman - General dog's bodies, they can do anything
Blitzers - They run the ball down the pitch, also open up holes for your catchers, etc.
Catchers - Run deep and erm, catch the ball!
Throwers - Throw the ball.
Blockers - last line of defence against ball carriers.
I've not waffled on too much have I?

To compare is to American football:
Actually, I thought of Blockers as the o/d Lineman on the LOS.
The other defense positions like for example the linebackers would then be for a blitzer type player since they need more speed. And the safeties should not be that tough as blockers are and surely much faster (but have tackle as their first skill
