New Team - Kroot

Post by sangraal »

Well mainly because I have an unused box of Kroot warriors.......

Also wanted a team like 'Zons or Norse, but different --- simple too -- no
new stuff, a team that could fit in the LRB.

0-16 Kroot Warriors 7 3 3 7 Catch --- General & Agility Skills

Re-rolls 60000 gp

Thats it --- what do you guys think?

Depends on how much a Kroot warrior costs. But I doubt it's unbalanced. Might rather be too weak.

An all catch team has just got some discussion. Finally we got some consensus and the team ended up as Half-elves . The original thread is here.

I know that this team isn't exactly the same but it's still an all-catch team so it's pretty much same.

Every team needs at least 1 position player. Perhaps a thrower with sure hands but no pass to start with, use the Kroot gene guy for a name.

Well, they're sorta evolved from birds, but they aren't so much fast and agile as they are strong and mean. When it comes to strength, 40k and Blood Bowl are on about the same range, and kroot in 40k has a strength of 4.

I'd say the basic kroot would be...

MA: 6, ST: 4, AG: 3, AV: 7, Skills/Traits: Frenzy, Upgrades: Gen, ST
Cost: 110k

Maybe use that as a blitzer/blocker type, and maybe create a few weaker types for your cheaper positions.

I am sure that the basic Kroot in 40k had a ST of 3, like a quishy human.

I'll check, but I am pretty sure.

Yeah, there are enough...but that's no reason to stop making more. There were enough teams a long time ago when there were only about 6 teams. Blood Bowl is not about moderation, though, it's one of the most X-Treme sports :D

Thats actually not a bad angle ---- in the fluff for Kroot they "evolve" by eating the flesh of their enemies & incorporate the enemies DNA into their
own.

Which could be a case for giving them access to Physical traits.

This evolution, however takes place in the next generation of Kroot, rather than overnight (as I like to think of it) which is the case with Chaos mutations.

"Check it out, ma, I woke up this morning & one of my arms has turned into a bunch of tentacles"

New Trait:
Spikey Punk Hair
Counts as Horns, but coach must perform Blitz whilst flipping the bird to the opposing coach --- failure to do so counts as an illegal proceedure.
