Any Ideas for a tournament team?
Hi,
i just cant decide which team and roster i should use for the next tourney. We are playing with 110 TR, wizards and Runesmiths can be hired for 150k for the whole tourney. Everyone plays 6 games, deads and injured players get fully restored after each match.
So any ideas what roster to take? I have to decide between Norse (but there are already 2 other norse teams, so will be a little bit boring), Dwarfs and Dark Elves.

Depends how you like to play. Dwarves always do well, but one mistake can lead to a quick score from just about any opposition, and knock you out of the tourney top spot.
Dark Elves, especially in a TR110 tourney, are really good scorers. With that extra 100K you can also buy another blitzer, allowing you enough block to punch the holes you'll need. AV 8 will be a boon against those norse teams, but I don't know what the other teams will be fielding.
As I am a little BIASED I would go with Dark Elves.

Norse are pretty well desinged for that kind of setup, but if you've already got 2 of them showing up, go with the Dwarves. Having a runesmith every game should be a lot of fun.
And Asperon, "holes" is not possessive in your sentence, "biased" should not be capitalized, and "especially" is spelled with only one c.

Yep thats absolutely right. One failure and the win could be very hard to get. But i think i know how to play dwarfs a bit. At least they do good in our league. 7 wins, one tie so far...just need one tie out of the last two games to win the cup. But thats a 220+ TR team...with a ST4, AG4, Block, Leap, Strip Ball BlitzerDepends how you like to play. The other teams known so far are one or two Norse, Human, Wood Elves, Amazon, High Elves and Halfings......but I don't know what the other teams will be fielding
And what i forgot to mention is, that you can choose one skill after each game, no traits or stats and a maximum of one skill per player during the tourney.
So, if i give my dwarfs a chance, what roster would you suggest?

2 Runner
2 Blitzer
6 Longbeards
4 ReRolls
2 FF
Or better just 5 lonbeards, one apo and a ff of 4?
Or what about 11 players, 2 ReRolls and a Runesmith?
And what skills to give them during tourney? I thought of 5 times guard? Or Block for one Runner? 2 Guards and Mighty Blow? Or one time Tackle for a Blitzer?....Damn so many options...

Dwarves Should be your choice,
they should be able to out bash the norse due to high armour keeping them in the fight, av7 v av 8/9,
It will be down to a blocking war, which they should win.

I think the Runesmith is a big investment - and pretty much stops you taking an apoth/12th man and 2 rerolls... I'd probably say not.
Skills - strip ball somewhere (probably blitzer or runner) and guard everywhere else. Maybe kick too, just to try to control your opponent's offence a little more.

I won't buy the Runesmith because you will need the money for other things:
I would go like this:
2 Troll slayer
2 Blitzer
2 Runner
5 Longbeards
4 RR
1 Apo
4 FF
If you know how to coach dwarves they will perform very good
And for the skills I would choose:
Block for both Runners, 1 Dirty player for a Longbeard and the rest should be guard.

The main question is, if i ll need 12 players. Or if 11 will be enough. There are maybe four rosters i have to choose between:
