Here is the final look I chose for the minotaur I posted last page. It's sealed now, so any advice has to go into the next model.

Not quite what I wanted, but I think I'm slowly getting better with this. Patience is on my side.

Can I borrow a cup and a half of patience :) I've used most of mine up assembling this khemri Team and I don't know how much more I have to use to paint it :).

First of all, thanks for all the kind and encouraging comments.

@Thordallim: I don't have any manuals. Basically I just take a really good look at what others do and then I just paint away and try to get there someday...

My main problem right now is that I'm still too slow. I really need to speed up a bit.
With this Wood Elf Thrower I allowed myself to take only about half the time I took with previous ones:

Maybe there is still a slight chance I will complete the team one day.

So you're not online for a couple of weeks and suddenly there's a rising star swinging his brush around ;)

Keep it up and don't worry about your painting speed... Speedpainting is fun, but it takes time to paint properly.

says the guy that takes over a year to paint a zombie.. :P

bah humbug.... ideally it should take as long to paint as you want it to.. if you enjoy painting (I remember enjoying it once.. ) take as much time as you like... if you need to paint a full team in 2 days, forget the fun part...

I find my models take 2-4 hours each on average to paint including painting numbers.. in theory I could knock out a team very quickly, except I don't actually paint very often these days...

anyway, great work... looking very nice indeed...

just remember that for Bb you're only painting a handful of minis....you don't have a box full of plastics waiting in line like you would for WHFB or 40k! When you see those kind of back logs, you can't help but try to speed paint and cut corners.

great job! love the WEs. very natural coloring.

Great work man. Are you sure you meant it when you said you were "learning" to paint , cuz what i think you meant was "teaching" to paint

Great job on the Minotaur too. I did one as well and would like your opinion on him. I used static grass in the ears and armpits.

I'll try to get better pictures in the future

Thanks. How flattering.
While there are others on this board who have a lot more experience under their belts than I do, I can give you my personal opinion: I think he's great! But I also think you need a better photo to do justice to your work. I'm not very good at taking photos myself, but if there's one thing I've learned it's you need good lighting. Maybe try to take him outside during daylight hours for a better shot, or use as many diffuse light sources as you can get.
I'm looking forward to see more pictures. Thanks for sharing.

True. I guess since I lack the experience I just wanted to know what I can do when speeding up compared to taking my time.
As an example I did this Ogre in a day compared to the Mino which took me almost a week.

Of course the quality is reduced by a good amount, but it's a good thing for me to compare those two "extremes" (well for me at least, it's as fast as I'm able to paint at the moment) and to see what my own time/quality ratio currently is. I hope more routine will help increase this over time...
:-?

Did I hear someone say:"GOOD"
If you paint a Ogre in one day and still manage to paint it like that, you are GOOD.
