The Vampire Team

Post by Nosferatu_D »

Well hello every one. This is my first topic ever on this forum. So if this topic is missplaced or something i am sorry.

I have a little problem. You see my greatest wish is to play vampires in bloodbowl. Maby it sounds starnge to you, but i really like vampires :D
But there is no official rules for the vampire team! And that makes me so angry. Why the hell do they make the modells if i can't play with them? So if someone would give me the unofficial rules or tell me where i can find them. I would be forever in you debt.

Thx

Thak you for your help. But i still have a question. What happened to the uber vampire? There is a vampire lord in the team box. I thought it was going to be on the team roster. Ok you can use it as a coatch. But i think it's kinda starnge to have a coatch in the starter team box.

Ahh ok now i read that i can freeboot the coach as a player with drakenborg stats. Ok thats quite nice. But why don't freeboot Drakenborg instead? It costs the same amount of money.

2 reasons.

1) You can freeboot BOTH Drakenborg and the coach for a game if you have the cash.

2) Rules say if two opponents have the same star ... the money used to freeboot them is lost and neither star plays. Since your coach would never be the same as your opponent's star ... its 100% safe from this rule.

Having played with them a time or three I find that the rules as is in the experimental section is a bit rough making the team as weak as halflings and gobos.

I liked the article in a recent BB Mag about Bloodlust.

The league I am in has two Vamps. and they are finding the Bloodlust rule to be very useful. Prehaphs a bit too much so!!!

There must be a middle ground somewhere.

Strongly disagree. Its just a tougher team to coach. A Vampire team was one win for playing for the league championship in the MBBL's last season. They definitely have more going for them than Halflings and Goblins.

The problem is you have to build the team slowly. Start with just 2 Vampires and a lot of rerolls. Get Pro as your first skill on the Vampires ... when your first Vampire gets Pro then you can buy the next one. Never have more than 2 Vampires without Pro on your team.

If you look at the records of some of the TBB regulars, you'll find that they've had pretty good records with Vamps:

Grumbledook 7 (4/3/0)
MickeX 23 (15/4/4)
skummy 7 (4/2/1)
EvolveToAnarchism 25 (14/4/7)
AsperonThorn 4 (2/1/1)

In the MBBL overall, Vampire teams have a 50% win record.

Also ... if move Pro back to a General skill will really help the Vampire team overall.

This is the key to the whole arguement.

yep, which leads me to say that i agree with the BG proposal of ST-only, and that Vamps are great fun to play, but you gotta love randomness :)

No way are Vamps on a par with Gobbo and 'Flings. Even I managed a 6/5 record with them, and I'm a average coach who started the team badly (3 or 4 vamps and only 2 RR's iirc).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
