Skill for Troll Slayer...

Post by VorTeX »

Hi,

just asking myself what to give (normal skill) to a Troll Slayer with Block, Frenzy, Dauntless, Thick Skull, Guard, Mighty Blow, Tackle....

Seemd like there nothing really usefull left...?
So any good ideas? Maybe Shadowing or Piling on?
Thanks for any ideas...

Go Guard, it's as good as on any other dorf.

He's already got Guard.

There isn't a lot of choice, but I'd go Piling On or Pass Block. I don't think Shadowing is really worth it.

Multiple Block is a good choice, Pass Block is handy too - as it allows you to reposition if your opponent passes the ball.

i would opt for pro: my current league happy not to make it a trait.
pro not bad for blocks, dauntless, even extra square but guess you need a choose

The probem is, that pro is a trait and he only made a normal skill roll. And yep multiple block would be really great but cannot be used with frenzy... or am i wrong on that one?

nope, not with frenzy but with dauntless, and there's where you need it.

I'd definately take Multiple Block.
Else take Pass Block.

Multiple Block is useless if you have Frenzy. You can't turn frenzy off, so you can't use Multiple block. :o

Have you thought about strip ball? :-?

wrong. when you use Multiple Block, it cancels frenzy, so you don't get the second block, and you don't have to follow.

id say stand firm if you get doubles of if you did. the one on my oldworld team doesnt dodge well and it helped when i needed it. he'll become an insane dwarf who cant get pushed back, good for holding the los you cant expect them to run downfield with the ball

Errr, can someone clear that one please? Is that true? Would be nice if thats how it works but i always thought that you HAVE to use frenzy and so you cant use Multiple Block with that player....?

Page 35 of the LRB says it all. "A player with frenzy MUST always follow an opponent up if they push them back."

I see no room for choice in this phrase. So the combination Frenzy/Multiple Block IMO is a wasted combination. :o
