break tackle
hello,
when a player has break tackle you can use their strength to dodge instead of thier agility, so if a player has strength 5 or more what do you need to roll. as my friend tells me that whatever you roll a 1 for it is classed as a fail, is this true?

Yep, as MLA said. A 1 is a failed roll in ANY event. Picking up the ball with a AG 5 player, without any TZ's etc, roll a 1 and it fails!
Same goes for break tackle. A dodge ALWAYS fails on a 1. Even with break tackle. So if this happened to you, I sympathize. My wood elves tumble over with dodging all the time!

This sounds like you may have rerolled the dice using the Dodge skill AND then again using a Team Reroll. This is not allowed, a roll may only ever be rerolled once.i rolled two ones in a row for my skink, then another with the use of one of my re-rolls. fan-bloody-tastic

Furelli is absolutely right.
You can RR a failed roll ONCE if you have a RR or a skill that allows you to. Before making the roll you have to declare if you use the skill or the RR.
Assume you have the dodge skill, 1 RR and no player with tackle near you from the opponent:
You want to dodge and fail the first roll. You fail it. You use the dodge skill and succeed. Then you make another dodge with the same player in the same action and fail again. THEN you are allowed to use the RR. (You can also use them vice versa of course).
I hope this makes it clear to you.
Cheers

oh right
, we have been playing slighty wrong we have been using both dodge's and a re-roll if needed per turn, and using the dodge skill twice or more in a row per turn if needed ie leaving one persons tackle zone and then anothers
. thanks for clearing this up for me i should be able to slow down the human catchers a little now when they play my dwarfs. thanks again

I don't know whether it says it explictly in the rules but the rule is simply that you may not re-roll any dice (including set of dice when blocking) more than once. I hope it is expressed in that way in the official rules somewhere.

Re: break tackle
Well, actually, you can roll for dodge like normal, and if you pass you can save Break tackle for another dodge. If you don't pass the roll, you can always call: "I'll use Break tackle" and pass anyway.sven wrote:when a player has break tackle you can use their strength to dodge instead of thier agility, so if a player has strength 5 or more what do you need to roll. as my friend tells me that whatever you roll a 1 for it is classed as a fail, is this true?
