I noticed in the latest summary of changes from the Vault, Khemri, Undead and Necromantic may use Wizards. This information immediately set me to speculating about a way to fix a problem I have always had with Necro especially, and Undead to a lesser degree: the vulnerability of some of their players to death because there are no apos allowed on the team, and they don't have regen on all players.
Now, I understand that it is a balance issue mostly that keeps Ghouls and Weres from not having Regen, but I am thinking of a new spell for wizards is proposed: Healing.
The spell can only be used on players without regeneration (healing is a different discipline than necromancy, and has no effect on those already dead or players with regen like Trolls: regeneration makes the spell not function.... the Wizards Networks assure us that it is just too complicated when an internal magick is trying to heal something, they can't interfere). The wizard can expend his one spell per game healing a player from injury. It must be used exactly like an apothecary and fails on a 1 just like an apothecary.
What effect does this have? Well, teams with LOADS of cash could potentially have two healings per game - 150k + 50k = 200k per game to guarantee two players saved. I think this could be really appropriate if a team in a league or whatever knew they had a game against a bashy Khemri, Chaos or Orc team, and wanted a little insurance, but I don't see it happening on a regular basis. Necros and Undead would have an opportunity to save players without regeneration. This means their best players may not die if killed, but it means they have to fork out the cost of a wizard to ensure it. Any other downsides?
Best of all, it means wizards become diversified: they are not always used for evil, but they can be used for good. Buy them for the offensive threat, but if you start getting hammered by some bad dice, break out the healing spell!

I didn't see the 0-2 apos... but it wouldn't give Undead or Necros the option either... for some reason I get REALLY attached to my Weres... moreso than normal players. Any player who is a double threat - scoring and power I like a lot.
I tried to play a vamp team the other day on FUMBBL... it was a joke. I got slaughtered, and it wasn't any fun. I hope they get fixed soon...
