Soccer Management game - Blood Bowl style

However you play online - Java, Vassal, Email, Cyanide etc - talk about it here.
This is also the place for discussing the various tools for managing leagues, teams and so on.

Soccer Management game - Blood Bowl style

Post by kalebdark »

Thought something I've been working on might be of interest to you lot, its a soccer management game styled heavily on bloodbowl .....

The game isn't ready for public consumption yet (there's a memory leak somewhere in it which I've got to fix before I can let it loose), but its looking pretty decent at the moment ... as you can see from the screenshots the game engine is pretty much fully present and correct ...

At the moment it needs tuning and tweaking, plus a lot more variety for the 'news' in the game (as they're a tad repetitive) - any suggestions greatfully recieved.

PS. Will work on either Mac or PC once its finished ...

Afraid so - might do a true Blood Bowl version at some stage (as I love the game) ... I just found it much easier to make the match using soccer because its got a play by play commentary and that suits soccer sims best (as the proliferation of soccer management games shows).

The year was picked randomly for no particular reason.

Kudos for the mac support as well. I've never been into management games, for the most part, but I suppose I just might have to try it...

You know, to show my support for responsible developers and all... (Yeah right. Can't wait.)

I write x-platform code by day so it would have felt 'slack' not to make any games I create in my spare time tied to a particular platform (there's the chance of a Linux version as well - but no promises ;) ).

Main reason I didn't do a straight 'BB' game (apart from the suitability of soccer to 'play by play' is simply that Game Workshop own everything lock stock and barrel and I'm not sure how they'd react to a game directly based upon it ...
