phil wrote:to be honest, an article in bbmag prior to the creation of frogman minis would actually significantly reduce the likelyhood of phigs ever doing such a team, as phigs tries to steer clear of doing concepts that gw already has their claws in...
So the problem would be solved by creating them before publishing them in an BB Magazin  . TBH I think GW had spent a lot of time in not following any Slann project. Even if they got inspired by Galaks article, we won't see any Slann minis from them for the next two years ... (too many projects in the line atm)

Unfortunately, the modern day Warhammer rules. The BB background has always been closely linked the the Warhammer one nd I'm sure it always will be (mostly  ).

In other words, if a brand new, Frogman race with a totally different history was introduced into Blood Bowl I'm sure no-one would bat an eye-lid. But a team that is totally at odds and oppersite to the Warhammer background? Well good luck, I admire your enthusiasm and you are doomed to fail. Sorry, big business will beat most things 9 times out of 10 and Warhammer is definately big business....

I had the chance to pick up some Slann warriors out of a bargain bin a few years ago and I failed to do so, and I've regretted it ever since. Some Slann Figs ( A coach perhaps) would be fantastic.

But a Slann should actually be able to mindcontrol the whole enemy team(or more likely the whole bloody stadium). So I think it isn't a good idea.(You could always call them frogman)

Well Slann were there a very long time, so I wouldn't see a problem with a revival. They haven't to be the fat blokes sitting on cushions - so no need to create a new race of frogmen ;-)

Sorry mate, not quite sure if I understand. You are saying that a race that was mentioned (although very rarely to be honest) in the 1st 3 editions of the Warhammer game could be introduced into BB as they used to be, despite the 4th, 5th and 6th editions of Warhammer having completely changed them? :-?

Again, I admire your enthusiasm and wish you luck, but your cause is 99.99% doomed.....

Blood Bowl is NOT WFB.

JJ has said that after the Vault settles down he might be interested in a new Splash race for Blood Bowl (so we are talking the 2006 Rules Review at this point).

He has not ruled out bring back the Slann team of old since it was part of 1st and 2nd edition and the MBBL2 (blood-bowl.net) roster has a nice difference from other current rosters and has been playtested for many games and years and both Chet and I are big believers that it would make a good Splash BB team.

Does this mean YES its in ... NO WAY. But to me what it does mean is if you are giving 1000 to 1 odds on this as indicated above dwarfcoach ... I'd like to wager a 100 USD on this one please.

Hehe, ok mate  .

Forgive a slight bought of pessimism, but to be honest by the time we have got around all the 'maybes', 'possiblies' and 'hasn't ruled outs' I imagine that due to inflation and rising costs you winnings would be about the cost of the new BB box set year 2020 style.

It's not that I'm saying it's a bad idea, just an old one. I'm sure that Jerv has indicated that new ideas are always looked at, and that old ideas are 'not completely ruled out'. Just the GW way really.

As an aside, a new 'frogman' race with entirely different/inventive background with rules based around the existing slann rules that you've been playtesting would probably be appreciated and much more readily accepted. Seems to be the way of things. A fresh approach (even if the older, more crusty amongst the BB community could see what it really was 8) ).

I can't tell the future, just seems a likely way for things to work.....
