Need a suggestion for a new Zug

Post by Count Zappa »

After nine glorious years on my human team, I have to retire Lump Gingrich, star blocker.

He's my Mighty Zug... and I don't want to use the same mini for his replacement.

Any suggestions on something else that would make a good Zug?

Always fancied the Kislev Tamer for a human blocker type, a shoulder pad added and he could look good ;)[/img]

You know what's funny? After I started this thread, I went to the GW site and had a look at the Mordheim stuff... saw that very model and wondered if it might not be perfect.

It's obviously special order, but that's okay. I might get it.

Thanks! Image

Never really considered that a blocker type, I'm actually using the very same mini with a 'zon thrower hand added for the thrower for my converted Norse team, looks really good.
Why not use a Fantasy Football Boris (by Heresy minatures)? He looks big and mean and definately a blocker type. I am using that mini for the blitzers for the afor mentioned Norse team, but would look very blocker like on a human team. BTW, there are 2 different heads that come with it, one of them is bald and would look kinda Zuggish.

Nice work Torg! I love the Fantasy Football Boris, and the Sumo from Phigs. Either would make a great addition to your team.

Speaking of the Sumo from Phigs, I am using Phil's Divine Wind minis along with the Hasslefree Minatures Orientals to create a martial arts themed team. I can use either the human or orc rosters for the team depending on what minis I use, Orc roster when I use the sumos for blockers and Hummies when I drop the sumos and use the female martial artists for catchers. I use the ninja figs from both Phigs and HF for the throwers, Phigs DW bushi and samurai as the blitzers, and the rest of the male martial artists as the lineman. Will look really cool once I paint them up (hopefully). No pics yet.

This shows the HF martial artists, note that the sumo is in a 3 point stance. The only problem with these minis is that some of them have very wide stances (like the sumo) and the bases they come with are too big for BB. To cut down the slotta tabs to fit normal slotta bases, you have to be really carefull or you will cut the slotta tabs off the mini.

Thats funny! I've been slowly picking up oriental figs for a bloodbowl team for the last year or so. I started with some Legends of the five rings mini's, a few Reaper figs, and I've been planning on picking up the divine wind in the near future. I love the hasslefree figs too! Is the sumo big enough to work as an ogre?

Actually the scale is just a bit smaller than the Phigs, but work ok for regular player, wouldn't work for an orge at all.
