IMO you'll want lotsa line-elves to start with because so that they can get some spp's (bigger chance of mvp) and skills before the positionals move in the roster and start scoring all those TD's and Cas's. This, after a few games, gives you skilled linemen to support your newly purchased positionals which will get spp's and skill up easily anyway.

Chiming in late on this one. But when I feel happy go lucky I take:
3 Blitzers
8 Linelves
1RR
max FF.
Relies a lot on AG4 and the blitzers compared to the 2 Blitzer, 9 Lineelf team. (Much more then just proportionally.) Because that 1 RR is used more often for that 1 you roll on a critical Pickup or dodge then being able to spare it on rerolling a Linelf Block.
Tactically it means you need to take a lot less Blocks with Linelves and make sure that all your Blitzers don't get stuck in one location on the field, One of them must be in a position to blitz anywhere if things go awry. It also means that when skulls are rolled with linelves more often then not, let them drop, even if you have the RR. A 2nd RR is 2nd purchase after an Apoth (barring any horrible or numerous Casualties.)
Lastly I would like to pile on the High FF is an absolute Must for an Elf team. Teams with Light armor and expensive players just cannot survive for long with out it.
