Creating a Pitch

Post by Scipio_Publius »

I have created several pitches (to scale) using photoshop. Problem is finding a suitable material to print them on. I don't want to use paper because paper is stiff and once rolled up it wants to stay rolled up.

Best stuff I have seen is the stuff they use for D&D hex maps. It feels like a leather or something. I wonder if anyone has tried this. I want something I can print my field on and then roll or fold up for storage. :D

A very cheap alternative could be one of those metal blankets found in first aid kits. They can be folded or rolled up, are durable and dirt cheap. I don't know if you can print on them though...

Wood would not be flexable though. Well, maybe.

One idea I got from a local was to print it on "iron on" paper then iron it on a cloth. That would work but it would take several 8.5 x 11 sheets to get a whole field on it.

No one has done anything like this? :)

Just laminated mine. I roll it up and unroll it without any problems.

I made a field that is laminated as well and rolling it up is fine but then it won't fit into a backpack or game box. A cloth-like material could be folded and I don't have to put something on the corners to keep it from rolling up.

That's called particle board over here, the stuff is crap, it's heavy and breaks easy, better to use a piece of plywood if you want to use wood.

Typical bloody yanks!!!!!

Why call it a Flat, when you can call it an Apartment!
Why call it a Lift, when you can call it an Elevator!
Why call it MDF, when you can call it Particle Board!
