Sumo fig????

Post by tommy316 »

I just saw a GREAT looking Sumo wrestler fig and now I can't remember where- I need some help!!!

It wasn't Phil's (sorry), but it was of a sumo down in a three point stance. I can remember what it looks like, just not where I saw it.

Can anybody help????

I think I saw it in here first and then went the company website.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's from Hasslefree Minis.

http://www.jenova.dk/hassle/front.htm

Click on the Shop link and it's in the Martial Artists section.

Great minis, I have some myself and I have combined the Hasslefree minis with Phil's Divine Wind minis to make an Oriental themed BB team.

I think it was mentioned on the LOS Sumo thread a while back.

Hope this helps,

gaijin

[Edit - Torg got there first :) - the link is the same!]

Not big enough to be an ogre really, actually a tiny bit smaller than Phils Phigs but still works ok in combo with the Phigs. I'll post a pic.

Ok here's the pics.

The first is a pic of the whole team, which I can use as either regular humans or use the orc roster to represent them. The Phigs bushi type with the armour are the blitzers and the ninja are the throwers. The regular martial artists in the front are the linemen, while I will use the female minis on the left for catchers when using the human roster. The females will be dropped and the sumos will be used as blockers when I use the orc roster for the team.

Here's a close up of the different sumos to show the comparison.

a few years back some small minis and games outfit made a sumo wrestling game, it was called akebono or budokan or something around there anyway. the miniatures weren't anything to write home about, but they were unmistakably sumo wrestlers, and might be bigger and fatter than either you've got from what i remember of the photos.

the japanese team looks awesome from a fig stand point. the females seem a little out of place but the sumos for an orc line up-awesome

This might be what Lucien was thinking of.

Sumo Basho

I had a look at this at salute and remember thinking the figs were pretty small.
