red hobgoblins

Post by KLK »

I finally order a chaos dwarf team...

before order it, I already had two bull centaurs, that I paint with green clothes.

but now I have a problem because I don't want to paint the Hobgoblins with green clothes and green skin. are differents kind of green, but I don't want to do that!

I read that in the D&D universe the hobgolins got red-orange skin, and I think is a good idea, but I need your advice: how could I piant a nice hobgoblin red-skin team?

thanks in advance.

try the warhammer chronicles 2003 on the different goblin types there is a fire goblin there and the color scheme would work for what you want

I've always seen hobgoblins as yellow-ish... like bubonic brown yellow. Or is it vomit brown? Bah... the one not really kahki coloured. :)

Guess that's what you get from reading spider-man? :D

It would work well with the green garbs though...

I've actually done a CD team where the Hobbo's have all different skin colors, red, blue, green, pale flesh, orange and whatnot. I think they look OK (not done yet but still OK). I'll try and snap some pics for ya.

And four of the ones who aren't green are Osborn, Harry, Norman & Macendale.

I wasn't familiar with the Warhammer Universe but I was familiar with D&D and Forgotten Realms when I got my first BB team, CD's. So I painted my hobo's like you said KLK, Redish orange flesh tone with green and brown clothes. I also painted my CD's with purple and gold clothes and dwarf bronze skin tone. Went over real well at the shop. Was told "How original" except that's they way I know the hobo's to be.

Osborn, Harry, Norman & Macendale
I like.

I have painted some for a friend into an orangey skin. Started with red and worked up to orange with a hint of yellow.

I started mine with "Hobgoblin Orange" (Duh!) then gave them a wash with thinned-down red ink, then highlighted them up again with ever yellower mixes of orange and yellow.
