The green is my choice of the 2, but neither are setting off fireworks

Snots ... I just checked the original green. There was virtually no compression that I can detect between the green and the finished Alien Blitzter. Its just that Phil scuplted him a bit on the small side.

I don't know if either of these guys will see the light of day.
Now the real question.
Is there anyway to cast a painted mini without destroying the paint job?
If there is ... I might be willing to cast over the years the rest of the special figures from the All Stars. There were 7 in total.

Okay ... I called my sources. There is no way to cast a figure without it getting the paint job destroyed.
So here's my question then for Deathwing, Del, and Norse.
If you had pictures from every angle and another miniature from the team to compare colours with .... could you reproduce the original paintjob so well that no one would notice? I'd be willing to give you 5 to 10 of that miniature in exchange for this reproduction.
I do NOT want to destroy the collector value of the set. But I think if it could be redone perfectly inducing the shading and everything. I could be convinced to produce the other unique miniatures from the team.
Which were:
Kefft the Despised

Sark Four-Eyes

'Constrictor' Atlanson

'Acid-scarred' Max

Garak Grigolson

'Snake' Sanders

=============================================
The figure I already casted was:
Jurgen Demonfeeder

The other 6 members of the Chaos All-Stars were all 2nd edition figures without conversions.
Soooooooo ... does any of the master painters think they could restore the figure to its original condition shown?
Do any of you hardcore collectors ... Gken, Traveller, Snots, etc. think that this would be an act of pure evil?
I'm struggling with this. I have no intentions of ever selling off any of the famous teams in my collection. Which means ... by the time I die ... will anyone care if 6 of the figures were repainted. Does that just become part of the legacy of the team to the collectors? Or does it destory the value of the team.
Which would be better. Casting the remaining members of the team and having a pro painter redo the paint jobs (if they are willing) ... or keeping the team in its original condition?
Thoughts and opinions greatly desired here. Because the remaining 6 members of the team are cool looking figs in my opinion.

Did you check out 3d laser scanning to make a mold? I don't see how that would ruin the original paint job, but it probably is cost prohivitive...

If you ask me: I wouldn't do it. That's an unique team, with history and everything. Stripping the paint and repainted by anyone not the original painter wouldn't do it for me as a collector. It wouldn't be the team that appeared in the WD. I don't think it's worth that price.
As an alternative: Snake Sanders, Sark Four-eyes are very easy conversions, Acid Max and Constrictor Atlanson need greenstuffing. Ask those painters rather to convert those minis for you as best as they can and make copies of them.
P.S.: what happened to the Genestealer in that team?

No, just a company that could do it. No idea on what size run they would do or the costs. Just didn't know if you had considered the possibility of 3d scanning.

Since a lot of the teams you have, you outbid me on when the VA auctioned them off, I wouldn't jepordize them. No matter how good a painter is they won't be able to adequately reproduce the same paintjob as the original had. That and I don't really think that having a bunch of these minis reproduced will do much for our sport/collecting/whatever. I wouldn't mind more minis, and I'd like a few of these, but I don't know how cool it would be to have 30 "Chaos All-Stars" theams running around either.
I do think that Narkotic had a good idea, though. Some are really simple conversions. Mock up a few good ones and have a go at it. I can even do a few.

Okay so the better question becomes then ... can I get get someone to do the conversion to produce the figures .... hmmmm okay ... stuff to think about.

Before you will do this " evil "paint stripp recast action on those old original painted historical minis ( which i never would do, if you ask me, what you did...
But i agree with narcotic, they would be not the same. I´m not a bad painter myself, but i dont think, i can copy perfectly the style and colors.
Maybe this conversion idea is a better way.
Traveller
) let try those master painters to copy the original Jurgen Demonfeeder on your recast one first!Do any of you hardcore collectors ... Gken, Traveller, Snots, etc. think that this would be an act of pure evil?

Tom are they all based on existing chaos figs? I am sure that most of them could be copied fairly easily with a little practice and maybe a few attempts.
Repainting them would probably be impossible to get them exact as we all have our own styles. Remodelling would be the safest option and keep the originals valuable.
Let me study the pics (next week now) and I will give you a verdict as to wether my abilities would be good enough to try.

The skaven is a 2nd ed catcher with an additional skaven catcher head attached (I don't know if the first head is repositioned)
The snakeman is a 2nd ed Human lineman with the head swapped with an old Citadel C27 Chaos Snakeman
Acid Max is that bloated 2nd ed chaos player, top of head and face erased and a hair/face and beard greenstuffed
The tentacle guy is another 2nd ed chaos player head and arm removed. The new head is an old citadel C36 Hobgoblin I guess (but I might err, but I know that face from somewhere, it's not greenstuffed IMO). The tentacle is genuine, but not that difficult.
Those four don't seem very difficult for me, except maybe locating the exact heads used for conversion at ebay.

The alien headed thrower is the Lewdwig star player Chaos figure from 2nd with an Alien head green stuffed on and the throwing arm with ball redone.
If we can create the new figures from the team ... I'll cast them. I have a providence letter from Phil Lewis to prove out I have the original team ... so I don't have a problem with minor conversions.
Could be fun to add the figures to the mix and gives the blood-bowl.net figures a constant theme.

the star green is great. one of the better players from the cards... cant believe he has been cast and never got finished and painted.
yeah cast away - very much all good
p.s. may know a skilled painter to ask nicely about a copy but his old team he made (circa 1995) proved you can never redroduce anothers work. if you treasure the real thing dont bin it (only females best stripped not painted figs)
