Ok, unfortunately I read what I myself write a bit carelessly. I agree it needed clarifying somewhat.

Here's what we're talking about
LRB pg 15 wrote:A coach may use any number

may use a skill any number of times in the same match.
However, as noted above, a single dice roll may not be
re-rolled more than once.
The kicker is that no single die may be rerolled more than once. You can't use a skill to reroll something, fail, and then use a TRR to RR it again since it's the same die roll.

they are waay better depending on what you want. If you want pure speed, sure feet and then sprint is very good as well, this is not even taking OTS in account as I guess it's a waste to build all your GR's into that direction ..

I prefer SF before sprint btw ..

You had merged two sentences together, so it was far from sure whether the central part of the resulting sentence ("but... catch") was linked to the beginning or the end of that whole sentence. "but" normally breaks the thought, hence it looked like you meant "Sprint on whoever. Yet players starting with dodge, sidestep, sure feet, and catch, is a waste."

That's a risk with the English language, where the high flexibility with relative pronouns and similar grammatical conjunctive elements can lead to confusion - unlike French which does not have that flexibility, hence no possibility for this type of confusion.

Well, after taking side step for both of them, i played one game, and it seemed to work very well. One turn my opponent hit me to try to knock my gutter runner out of the way of his werewolf, but rolled a pushback and a skull. I side stepped him, so the werewolf had to make a dodge roll to beat me, and he failed, so i picked up the ball, and held off for the win. ( I probably wouldve won anyway, but the sidestep sure was nice  )

However, French is great for any other type of confusion.
Especially when I try to speak it.

@JJB
i understand where the confusion could have raised, and my finishing sentence was criticizing me, not you :) and you'd be amazed at how french can be flexible. that's why it is said to be a more literary language than english in spite of the lesser variety of vocabulary :)

Here are the GR's I've pulled together:

Pinky 9/2/4/7 Dodge, Block, Dauntless, Claw, Niggle
Rocky 10/2/4/7 Dodge, Block, +1 MV, Sprint
Speedy 9/2/5/7 Dodge, Block, +1 AG, Leap
Stuart Little 9/2/4/7 Dodge, Block

The skills are listed in the order the rats got 'em. As you can see, I'm a big believer in Block first.

No sidestep here! Not that it isn't a great choice, but I elected to take dauntless on the first guy to deal with high strength opps (league includes an advanced orc team, an advanced necro team, and another two teams with big guys). After that he rolled doubles, and I eschewed the usual choice of Horns as this is a vault team and the Dauntless/Horns combo is going to be nerfed. Claw works well for him, as he throws a lot of blocks with the dauntless skill.

After that (luckily) two of the three rats got a stat increase for their next improvement. Their development after that wasn't tough: +1 MV = OTS, and +1 AG = Leap (I certainly had other options here).

Sidestep would be a nice addition to any of these guys, but the dauntless guy will probably take tackle next and the OTS is probably looking at sure feet.

B

i find sprint to be one of the worst skill available, behind diving catch. even if you do intend to turn him into a one-turner, it would have been better to pick sure feet, and if you REALLY needed a OTS, then use a chain-push for that extra square.

Side Step or Pass Block, skills which disrupt the opponents plans. I dont like Diving tackle on a St 2 Player as it means commiting him to a TZ, and guess what, offering up sacrifice for a 2 die block. Not for me ta ;-)

but a 2 dice block on a blodging sidestepper is by no means a guaranteed knockdown...

But the chances are at such a high rate of development, the teams your playing with will have plenty of tackle also. if you did that to just starter Chaos Dwarves or Dwarves, then they'll eat you for breakfast, so more experience teams will be jumping in glee when you put your AV 7 player down to be blitzed by A Mighty Blow Tackler. lets be honest who's going to dodge away from a ST2 Player, when you can block them instead. Its a casaulty just waiting to happen.
