Well, Golden Daemon is probably too good to sell. Do you not paint below your best for the purposes of selling stuff though?Laxon Hrull wrote:Don't wanna sound arrogant but as a Golden Demon winner, I wouldn't sell a painted team on ebay for less than £250.
Come to think of it, I wouldn't sell a painted team full stop.
Cheers

That's ok mate, I used to work at GW HQ in Nottingham and I know full well what 'Eavy Metal standard painting is....Djengis_Khan wrote:I think some people are just very fast impressed.dwarfcoach wrote:. The only times I have sold models as 'pro-painted' is when I have been amazingly impressed quote
some people from my league think I'm almost a pro![]()

just because they don't know better painting then mine because they don't paint them self.
so I think thats the biggest problem..

A couple of bits I sold in the past were from GW staff, other stuff was of comparable quality.
I agree that quality is completely relative, but I think it is universally accepted that 'pro-painted' should be of a very high standard. Pity that E-bay has pretty much shot the phrase in the foot.

Pro Painted = Professionally painted
So the guy who did the painting got the cost of the mini, paint, wear and tear on brushes etc plus a decent amount of money for labour for the mini.
It doesn't say anything about the quality of the paint job, if I could sell my dwarf team for 100$ it wouldn't be pro painted because of all the hours of painting and backsore I put into it it would have to cost at least 250$. The minis are not varnished yet though and, even though it's my master piece, I have not yet painted the eyes and they're not nearly as good as the worst some terrible paint jobs I've seen so far.

Hehe, did you see that comic strip when a monkey was on a laptop thinking to himself:
'Well I earn money on it so I must be s proffessional painter...'
And there were other monkeys in the background with paint brushes and models....
(I think it was that 'Larry Leadhead' mentioned previously)

Dunno if I could really. I never like to rush figs. I have tried it in the past and I just tend to get into bad habits. I'd find it hard to paint an army as I couldn't bring myself to speedpaint unit figs. I do have a full painted Chaos army but the've been done over a course of seven years.Do you not paint below your best for the purposes of selling stuff though?
