Starting Chaos Dwarf Team
6 Chaos Dwarves
6 Hobgoblins
4 Rerolls
9 FF
Apothecary
Planned Purchases: Bull Centuar, Bull Centaur, Minotaur, Rerolls
Thoughts?
I'm thinking the downside will be that it'll take a game or three to get the first Bull Centaur and skills for it will take another game or two.

scrap RR, get only 11 players and as much bulls as you can, with a minimum of 4 CD.
if you don't want to take them from the start, i'd still try to get a minotaur to start with, he'll need to get his first skill fast so that he can be as reliable as the rest of the team. so, instead of 6 hobgobs, get 4 and a mino, i'd say.

2 Bull Centaurs
4 Choas Dwarves
6 Hobgoblins
3 Rerolls
7 Fan Factor
Don't start without at least one BC. Think of them as your blitzers (even though they don't have block.) Their speed makes them excellent ball carriers, and they're strong enough to take on pretty much anything another starting team is going to throw at you.
I started with just one in the league I'm in now, and some unfortunate dice rolls meant it took a LOOOONG time to earn the cash to buy the second one.

I started off my CD team as follows:
1 Minotaur
2 Bull Centaurs
3 CD Blockers
6 Hobbos
Apothecary
2RR
3 FF
After three games with 2 wins and a draw, the mino and both BCs have block. 3RRs, but despite 2 +3 to FF rolls (and one +1) the FF is still at 3

It all depends on the length of your league and the races picked by the other players Nathaniel.
I must admit that the roster you submitted is my favourite one for long and medium-term leagues because it is safe. 6 CDs provides you with hitting power coupled with strong resistance and safe blocks (i.e. 6 players with the block skill), 4 rr allows for some daring ball-handling with your hobgoblins, the apothecary needs no justification and the 9 ff should help you get money to buy your two BCs reasonably quickly.
Until they have block, BCs are not reliable. Even more so for big guys.
Of course, you won't have the speed that the BCs give you with that roster - you have to be good at positional playing to handle it properly, yet I must admit that you will be far more able to grind your opponents like that than if you had BCs and/or a big guy.
Remember also that BCs are the biggest RR eaters of a CD team at least until they have block, but also with their low agility yet the usual ball-handling duties they are assigned...

I would advise starting with both Bull Centaurs. They are expensive to recruit later in the day, and do not skill up that quickly. Everyone I have spoken to who didn't start with both bulls regretted it. kwailung's roster is tried and tested.

I also like Dam's roster but I would change the Apo into 5 FF with already 12 Players and a lot of hittingpower you can survive the first match without him and buy him at the first thing.

I know that's a typical option/opinion, but I tend to be bit chicken and like to keep my players alive, meaning I start off with an APO if possible. With the hobbos having AV of 7 only, and being the main ball-handlers, I figured that an APO would come in handy from the start. Turned out that after three matches the CAS score would read: 9-2 (both CAS against were BHs).Aksho wrote:I also like Dam's roster but I would change the Apo into 5 FF with already 12 Players and a lot of hittingpower you can survive the first match without him and buy him at the first thing.
