rottring ink (not sure spelling) - very vibrant colour pigment for bright wash/ or glaze.
Ans windsor + newton ink for more darker shades/ like brown and blue. Windsor very basic drawing ink in uk and good range for most stuff.
via Kadu -C's very cool photos on the web

I can't believe you haven't gone on about D&D colour, Juck. A very muted range of colours - not even sure if they stll make them. :-?

Rotring are great. Very vibrant. Windsor and Newton good for armour washes. A lot of my old Slaanesh Champions have aW&N Viridian glaze.

Laxon get some pics of your chaos up...look at msn.groups.

Yeah d+d colours were very nice as the dry pigment was always cool for pastel shades.

Another vote for Vallejo - 'better, cheaper, more' are three reasons (if cheaper and more can count as 2) than GW paints. But, I stick with GW metalics for drybrushing, the Vallejo paint seems to refuse to wipe off the brush to the extent that GW will meaning that my attempts at drybrushing with Vallejo tend to end up as painted on silver (etc).

Having voiced this paint preferance I'd say the biggest change to my painting came not with the shift in paint brands but in brushes. Having used the GW brushes for ages I recently shifted to Windsor and Newton Series 7 brushes and painting has become an altogether better experience. More expensive yes, but they last for ages and they hold a point... In the end they definately work out cheaper per figure than any other brush I've used.

I have to say I have made the switch to Vallejo, and never looked back. I was using GW paints and I had quite a collection (I probably had one of each colour). They all dried up on me in no time at all.... Since I really didn't want to spend 150+ to have the same bad experience, I switched to Vallejo.

Yesterday in Essen at the fair. Had to do quite a search and almost gave up when I stumbled across a guy who had loads of the stuff! (Just that I did not have loads of money to buy all!)
