Yeah. Where do I get the money from to do this?
I don't think I'll have an income of 70000+ each game.

At low TR, cash is pretty good...you may well get 70K next game..and odds are good that you'll get at least 50k to get an apoth.

Without the apoth, you Might get hurt, but the odds are real good that you won't...and even the apoth fails 1 out of 6 times!

Without replacing your injured player now, you'll be down to 10 players max next game...and dwarves don't do as well as elves do when down players.

bottom line..replace the niggled runner...It's your best option at this point..it might backfire on you, but it probably won't.

I would buy a new player. You wrote that your runner is injured and niggled so he has to miss the next match. You have only 10 players. With dwarf it is very difficult to win a game if they start with less players then the opponent.
I would buy a 7th long beard. This minimizes the player with AV 8 and you have one ball handler and 10k cash and need only 40k for an Apo. If you want to retire the runner you should do so soon. Because he keeps you teamrating high. Handicap can bring money or something usefull.

My advice buy a LB and retire the runner immediately.

erm, why should it be better to buy a LB instead of a runner, if he decides to retire the niggled runner ? i don't get it.

He saves 10k gp! He just has not so many money to earn in the next match.

If you can play with dwarfs well you don't need a second runner. The second runner is a bonus.

the second runner is far from being a bonus. only safe ball retriever, and with av8 he's likely to get injured, if your opponent plays correctly.

By retiring the Runner and replacing him with a runner, he lowers his TR by 8, thus increasing his potential handicaps in future games, as well as keeping him on the good Money ranges.

He should definitely NOT buy a longbeard. He has 6 already and he has only 1 Slayer.

IMO, he should work to having 2 slayers, 2 runners, 2 blitzers and 6 LB's. that's 12 players. He won't need more than that for awhile..needs to get an apothecary and 2 more RR's before adding the 7th LB.

Oh, and dwarves, no matter how good a coach, need all of the Agility 3 players they can have on the pitch. Players get hurt and due to the low MA of dwarves, having 2 runners increases the area you can cover and get to the ball. 2 runners are essential!

Absolutely agree...for both offense and defense. It is the only player on your team able to keep pace with most other races. All you need to do is tie one up and run away with little or no fear of ever being caught

Ridiculous to have only one runner

I thought the common tactic for dwarves is forming the cage with a runner in the middle.
So why do I need a second Runner so badly?

The next team I go against is either a 115 TR Vampire team or another Dwarf team that only has one match completed. I can play either with only 10 players.

Oh, another thing I should mention: Our League Rules allow me to buy a single player from the Amazon, Halfling, Human or Norse roster.
Downside is I have to pay the price again after the first season and the player can't use team RRs.
Maybe I should get Halfling as second ball handler and get the Apo.

It is essentially. Try picking up the ball without a runner though...

A common tactic versus dwarves is try and knock out the runners. This effectively cripples their chances of picking up the ball without wasting RR. You have two RR. Good luck with all of that becuase you will use them up in a hurry.

If you have one runner all the better. Knock him out and things are looking pretty good for me. Especially on a team as young as yours w/o additional skills besides the ones out of the gate.

Why on earth would you buy a halfling for a ball runner that can't use team RR???? Are you nuts? Especially if you are playing against dwarves where this halfling's dodge is worthless????? :o

Do what you want to of course and good luck too (I mean that sincerely)

And which more essential. The Human blitzer is too expensive.

I knwo the problem with the ball handlers with dwarf. My idea was to save 10k to need only 40k to a reroll. I agree that a dwarf team needs two slayers they are essential. But I still think one runner is enough for a few games. In the long term view you should get the second runner.
