Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Well I agree to all goblin arguments listed up here but my Orc-heart says:

If you have a Gobbo on the field, at least you have someone you dare foul with, when the other players are 4 BOBs, 4 Blitzers, 1 Troll and your Thrower, it just doesn't seem worth it to foul with them.
Many an Elf, and recently a Bull Centaur has been fouled out because my Gobbo was just standing about anyway, and felt he should at least do something before ending the team turn.
My last Gobbo came in at TR 202 for my Tabletop Orc team, and because he had no skills and was no threat to anyone, my opponents just plain ignored him most of the time, and suddenly the opponent forgets him in the efforts to get the ball, and he's there for a suprise touchdown. (5 of them in four games actually)
Ofcourse a gobbo with no skills is often a juicy target for anyone on the opposing team, but just run away with the little bugger, and the opponent will spend some player chasing the little guy forever hoping for the casualty, and most of the time the bugger will survive it anyway, and if he dies, what have you lost?
Opposed to many others, I prefer my Gobbos to grab sure-feet at first skill, sprint at second skill, and catch as third (Block on doubles ofcourse). This grants the orc team an effective MA 9 player (6 + 3 Sprint with reroll), and this has done wonders for my team, as it forces Bashy teams to cover deep, and hence allows me to either score in two turns, or bash with supremacy on the LOS.
Hope this helps, my Orc team currently has 17/6/4 win/tie/loss ratio, so it works for me, only thing I can't seem to beat is skaven. *goes out to look for threads with more advice than kill them*
