Ogre Kingdom.....

Post by tommy316 »

with the soon to be released GW army, has anyone thought about changing the Orge roster (is there even an "official" roster set???)?

Adding gnoblars instead of goblins?

Creating Ogre Yhetees for Norse (and the Valkyrie) team?

Just a thought...... please don't flame me  for opening an cans of worms.

no official ogre roster yet, prolly in a week or so.

BB's fluff is moving away from WHFB fluff, so no yeti's and stuff

Just use the Yhetee's models with Ogre stats

Even tho we said BB doesn't follow WFB background....I think this would a great opportunity to make a more "balanced" ogre roster with more little guys that wouldn't be an overpowered gobbo team.

Like

0-6 Ogres 120k 6 5 2 9 mighty blow, bonehead, ttm thick skull
0-2 Yetis 120k 6 4 3 8 Mighty blow
0-8 Gnoblars 6 1 3 6 dodge, stunty right stuff 30k

or something like that.

I was more thinking of the Yhetee's for the North teams- Orge stats and skills with Cold Resistance trait, Keep it simple.

Does anyone know anything about what gnoblars are??? How would they differ from gobbos???

Orge team roster like:

0-12 Orge's or Yhetee's (can have a mix of both)
0-6 Gnoblar's (no stat line until I have more info on the race)

Nothing too dramatic, just modify the Orge Stat for the Yhetee and create another race (modified gobbos).

I've heard that before about the two being seperate, but then why is it that other then the Amazon team (which is a Mordheim warband) is there nothing else from outside the WH world in BB?

No Centaurs, but we have bull-centaurs. No Valkyrie team, and those are even in the fluff for BB (THANK YOU Phil for making a great set of figs for such a team). Maybe cuz GW doesn't produce those figs- isn't that a GW rule; no fig if there's no rule and vice versa.

Yhetees, gnoblars, centigors, terradons (as a lizardman interception secret weapon), chameleon skinks, BLOOD LINE Vampires, Kislev, Brettonnian, Dragon Ogres, Choas (Hordes team and Beast Teams)and Sisterhood of Sigmar. I wouldn't mind one bit seeing all this stuff in BB (AS LONG AS IT WAS BALANCED AND DIDN'T REQUIRE A BUNCH OF NEW RULES- so it probably won't ever happen.) Those are just things from the WH world; what about Centaurs, Valkyries, Cyclops, Centaur Skeletons (there are some great Confrontation mini's), and talking Donkeys too    Just kidding about Donkey.

Anyway, JJ may say that he's trying to distance BB fluff and WH fluff - but can he really do that without limiting BB cuz BB doesn't get a lot of support from GW and I don't see GW putting out figs for a team that doesn't fall within their "realm" and I haven't seen a new team from outside the WH world come into the game "from an official standpoint". (MBBL2 and other leagues of the such are great for BB, with their expanded teams).

ALRIGHT, I've gone on WAY TOO LONG!!! Sorry about that- did I even make my point????

The idea of an Ogre team with Goblins and Ogre Kingdoms with Gnoblars both appeared at roughly the same time. I don't think it was a coincidence.

Actually the Orge team with goblins has been out for about a year or so- the Orge Kingdom rules are "coming soon"

The ideas both came out at roughly the same time from what I remember (there was some confusion since the games have a certain amount of crossover) but maybe the BB team inspired the Warhammer army.

For WFB it takes a long time from inception to get the final result in print. For BB they were just added to the normal play testing very quickly, which is very easy.

Ogre team became official yesterday, OKingdoms become official in less than a month.
