the new elf teams

Post by Harlekin »

Hi!

I am not sure about this new team. Cause for all other new teams you can find the allied races in the blood bowl "gold" rules by Jervish Johnson (Allied teams table) or in the living rule book v3.0, but for the elf teams I can not find it! Do they have the same like the woodelves or like the high elves? A mixture? Can they have a tree man in there team? Humans? Amazons?

Thank you:
Greetz Harlekin

In "Living RuleBook era" there are no more allies for teams... you can use only players from your own race.

By the way, if you're talking about Star Players... now they can use Prince Moranion, Jordell Freshbreeze and Horkon Heartripper (they care only about winning and not about alignement  )

Sorry but Horkon is not for pro elves in the RR.
Only Jordell and Moranion.

If by allied players you mean big guys then no big guys for pro elves.
This applies to many other teams:
High elves
Dark elves
Dwarves
Amazon
Khemri
Necromantic
Undead
Vampire

Thanx for the informations so far!!!!!!!!!!!

In the "gold" edition rules, I think they are experimental, there is an allied team table:

"...ALLIED TEAMS TABLE
Team May Ally With:

AMAZON: Human, Unicorn
BRETONNIAN: Human
CHAOS: Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Goblin, Orc, Skaven, Minotaur, Norse, Ogre, Vampire
CHAOS DWARF: Chaos, Goblin, Orc, Minotaur
DAEMONS: None
DARK ELF: Chaos, Minotaur
DWARF: Human, Norse, Ogre
GOBLIN: Skaven, Ogre, Orc
HALFLING: Amazon, Human, Ogre, Treemen, Wood Elf
HIGH ELF: Amazon, Human, Wood Elf
HUMAN: Amazons, Bretonnians, Dwarf, Halfling, High Elf, Norse, Ogre, Wood Elf
KHEMRI UNDEAD: Skaven
LIZARDMEN: High Elf, Human, Ogre
MINOTAURS: None
NORSE: Chaos, Dwarf, Ogres, Human, Orc
OGRES: None
ORC: Chaos, Chaos Dwarf, Goblin, Norse, Ogre
SKAVEN: Goblin, Khemri
SNOTLINGS: None
TREEMEN: None
UNDEAD: Dark Elf, Vampire
VAMPIRE: Chaos, Dark Elf, Undead
WOOD ELF: Amazons, Halfling, High Elf, Human, Treeman
ANY OTHER: None

Notes on the Allied Teams Table
Note that Bull Centaurs, Rat Ogres & Trolls:
these are not on the list of allies on the right.
This is because they are now incorporated
directly into the Chaos Dwarf, Skaven and
Goblin teams lists..."

I know lots of people do not use this rules!!!!
We want to use them so we are looking for the allies of the new elf team!
Anyone an idea? Does anyone use the rules as well? And, by the way: What does the author mean with deamons in thw world of blood bowl?

Thank you very much:
Harlekin

Honest suggestion from my side: DON'T USE THESE RULES!

They are crap. Allies ruin the balance and the differences between the races. Teams are designed to have specific strengths and weaknesses and the ally rules eliminate that factor. They give quick and agile players (skaven) to slow races (Khemri). They give cheap players to expensive races. They give tough players to weak and agile races.

Btw ... why are Khemri in that list? Afaik, the Khemri race did not exist in the Gold rules ...

Hmmm, Khemri with a gutter runner.

Cool.

Agree with Tim here. We used those rules for 6 months and were glad to abandon them. Human teams with a knight, wardancer and high elf thrower. We got sick of those..... It was totally unbalanced.

That's true- forget the allies.

Just think of a Lizardteam with a HE thrower- horrible :o

Even if you got linemen only allies, it's still horrible:
Chap human linemen for the wood elf line,
Elven linemen as throwers on Lizzie, Chaos, ...
Norse linemen on the starting Chaos team
Skaven lineos as runners for the Khemri ...

bad idea ...

and btw ... i played 2 years with allies in 3rd Ed., so i know what i'm talking about ;) TR400 Skaven with a Chaos warrior, 1 Black Orc Blocker and 2 beastmen ...

We still have alies at our league because we didn't want to drop them out.
But new teams and the existing teams are not allowed to take any more and I hope that the remaining ones will die soon.

We tried that but found out that Grail knights are very hard to kill
So, we forced everybody to sack them later on anyway......

Hi there and thank you!

Yeah, I think you are right! Have to discuss that with my friends. This means the only "allied" players they can use, are the two starplayers: Jordell and Moranion!?

Thanks, greetz Harlekin

Yep, and you can only freeboot them for one game (unless you house rule in permenant stars).
