I thought your entry was creatively the best. Unfortunately the other Imp stole my heart though. I think we were voting on the quality of the job, not the idea behind it. That'd probably be why you fared so poorly in the votes. Few votes doesn't mean no one foune it cool. 8)

i'm thinking of making the voting for next time a "pick your top 3" thing. that may bring out some better results, maybe not. anyway i'll look into it and try for next time.

Hello All,
It's been a long week or so patiently waiting for the results as well as waiting to post some comments...
1. Well First I would like to thank Evil Git for organizing this. He did a great job and I am looking forward to the next contest.
2. Next I would like to congratulate all the entrants and especially Ewan for a well deserved 1st Place finish! I didn't vote since I was entered but Ewan certainly would have gotten my vote along with the "blue" Imp.
3. As for the comments about my fig..Yes, she was painted earlier this year for the first TKC Tourney here in Orlando (I'm flattered that they were that memorable to some!) I had mentioned before the contest about entering "already painted minis" and since this was my first "online" painting contest, I didn't think it was big deal. I was also surprised by the smaller turnout and I would prefer to have seen more "pre-contest-painted figs" if it garnered more entrants. That said, I will NOT be entering any of my Valks into any other online BB contests (ALTHOUGH I may enter the non-Phil's Phigs coach if that category ever arises  )
4. As for the conversion...I apologize since it never crossed my mind to ask about it  I certainly could have entered an unconverted line woman. Fortunately, I don't think it affected the outcome and maybe now can be addressed in the rules for the next contest.
5. I completely sympathize with Ewan over that "matte" disaster as well as the criticism about her face. Don't get me wrong, Phil knows I LOVE his figs but there is something about his female faces (both Widows and Valks) that are difficult to make "pretty". I'm working on a Pro-elf team now for next year's TKC with a couple of Widow Catchers and I am NOT looking forward to painting their faces AT ALL! :-?

Oh and thanks for all those who voted for me!! :)

congratz to winner

"One last point is that you need to be your own worst/harshest critic. I am."

best point made in this thread - if you wnat to paint like a legend you need to be able too study others and be your own critic. - great point Woody.

Congrats ewan.

Stu love the Imp got my vote, and inspired me to bump my imps up the list of minis to be painted.

I think with a better pic and maybe a little T n' A would have got me atleast one vote. :)
