it's realy one big lump of metal, but I realy like it !
the base isn't too big, the same as other bigguys so I see no problems for using only when he gets knocked down but you can use an replace template

On a different note:
How do you keep the 2nd ed deathroller together?
It seems quite weak between the roller and the engine.
Doesn't it break easily?
yep, i think, it will break quite easy, IF i would use it for gameplay. I use superglue and a bit greenstuff for this conection. That is the way i used to bring parts together when splinting isnt so easy anymore.
i used to play with the dwarfs when i was like seven or eight and i used to use the 2nd ed deathroller. i did not know how to pin models and probably thought green stuff only came from my runny nose. so yeah it was always falling apart on me, the wheel was always coming away from the handle bar if i remember correctly.

when i looked like loosing i may of, but not any more.
at least it can be said of this one...it lives up to the name....the others looked a little tame to be called deathrollers...stood up against Grashnak they looked more like...bruising rollers..or maybe cracked rib rollers at best....this thing cuold vie for being called heck on wheels...sheer intimidation...
So...that ogre failed bonehead eh....this ought to wake him up....for the second or two it takes to make fertilizer out of him anyway...

Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't.
Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
That's why I prefer based death rollers. Adds a lot to intimidation factor. The new one doesn't really fit the fluff anymore. The reason I like the 2nd ed. death roller is that it looks like someone bodged it together on Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard Wars from a grass roller and a moped. Consistent with the fluff.
By the way, adding a base should also help against collapse of the 2nd ed roller.
