team rating & injuries

Post by amadoris »

Hi,
I would like to consider the relationship between TR and injured players. We could calculate the TR excluding the points that come from non elegible players. It would balance some paradossal matches...

This has got it's pros and cons. Personally I think the pros of counting injured players outweigh the cons. Most importantly, an injury is supposed to be a big setback for the team. Of course occasionally a team does not recover from injuries but on the whole injuries (and counting them for TR) provide part of the challenges BB offers. But it wouldn't be such a big deal in itself if BB hadn't been stripped of most of its challenges already.

At a league I was playing we had the rule that a MNG player wasn't counted towards the TR.And I found it really good balanced.Just take the case that a player with 50+ points will miss the match and counts to your TR.You will have two HC rolls against you because he is counted in the TR but can't play anyway.
So I hope there will be an official change soon.

on the other hand, it is your job as a coach to make sure your team is balanced. if you have all the team's SPP on one player, it is bad team development. if all your players are worth the same, then you only lose a bit. and that's true for the opposing teams :)

But if Teams with TR200+ meet and one coach has a player with 50+SPP(which shouldn't be rare) then the HC can ruin the game for him before it started already.

well, i honestly don't think a HC can ruin the game for a TR200 team. especially now with the revised handicap table.

anyway the game is balanced at every experience level of the team. And the agility team in very hard leagues can paly with less troubles for mountains of MNG players
