Hi Lionwarrior,
I forgot one very important thing:
Yes - the CLBBBL allows teams to take extra goodies beyond the roster.
The "roster" as such, stays the same.
So, a homemade team from the CLBBBL should be somewhat comparable to the official teams, because the homemades too get these extra goodies, not reflected on the rosters.
So - the homemade rosters that you see are similar to the official rosters, in that both kinds got something extra in the CLBBBL, but nowhere else.
Cheers
Martin

Hi Gus,
sorry - nope, no online capabilities.
However, you are welcome to visit copenhagen for Lustria Open 6 (april/may) or Norsca Open 4 (october/november) and give one of those teams a whirl:

you can use ski-junks online client to play online. Just upload rosters from your personal computer and direct connect to the other computer.Gus wrote:i'm saying that, should there be a way to play these in an online league, i'd like to experiment those teams.
if there is and that i have missed that, just beat me with burning sticks.

Hi Plasmoid.
I really like some of the things you did with the teams. I agree with you regarding switching the armor on the high elves. Some quick questions though
How have the high elves, Kislevs and Tilean teams performed in your league?
Any of the new teams in dominating your league?
Have you tried some of these teams with the vault rules?

i am playing in 2 online leagues atm ( http://fumbbl.com and http://www.francebloodbowl.com ), i was just saying that it would be cool if plasmoid's league was also playable using SkiJunkie's JBB or maybe Ronald's PBeM Tool. or anyone else's league, for that matter. because the leagues i play in definitely won't adopt those modifications =)gken1 wrote:you can use ski-junks online client to play online. you can put the rosters on your own computer and your opponent can use roster from his computer. I think you should still be able to use fumbbl's proxy if you want to play somebody. the results won't be uploaded anywhere but you would be able to read them on your comp and update your team file accordingly.
I use ski-junks client in Hot-seat mode to playtest games for my Tabletop league. I'd enter in my next opponents team roster in the HTML editor and then I can devise a plan on how to best attack my opponent.

i know. just use the people u meet in fumbbl/francebowl and u got your test league.
it would just take some management on 1 person's part. email results to one person for compilation, but you can update your roster on your own and upload teams from your harddrive.

Hi Atropabelladonna,
always nice to hear from someone who likes the work done.
>I agree with you regarding switching the armor on the high elves.
The switch really bing up strong feelings in online BBers.
I've actually seen quite a few people wanting to try it out in their league, which IMO isn't common at all.
I've also seen people really hating the idea with a vengeance.
>How have the high elves, Kislevs and Tilean teams performed in your
>league?
A little explaining first:
Most of these teams have played at least one (50 game) season in a league called CLBBBL.
However, CLBBBL does have quite a few house rules, so many of the rosters presented here has either been tweaked to better fit in a normal league. Also, some teams have been played, and then tweaked to the current version - giving a pretty predictable result, but without another 50 game season on its back.
Some tweaks have been done to better fit a normal league environment, others simply because of my personal tase.
>Any of the new teams in dominating your league?
Short answer: Nope.
In the CLBBBL, the high elfs are considered the weakest of the 4 elf teams.
In my experience, they are hard to win with for the first many games. They are simply too slow, and require too many dodges and go-for-its without the required skill rerolls to be really good.
However, their high AV means that they don't suffer so many injuries/deaths, which helps them consolidate in the longer run.
So, they start out weak, and finish stronger (though not as strong as the best finishers).
Tileans are based on a mixed race team used in CLBBBL.
Tileans are weaker than this team.
In the short term, they were quite strong in a version with an Ogre - but now I've removed the ogre, leaving them weaker both short and long term.
Kislev are much like norse.
I've had good results with them in a tournament, but nothing excessive.
>Have you tried some of these teams with the vault rules?
Actually, I've just set up a small vault.
The intention is to playtest the vault rules, and some of these teams under vault rules.
We've dropped some of the changes to get closer to the vault-core.
What we're keeping are: Changed high and dark elfs, and the new teams slann, kislev, tilea, bretonnia, daemon and marauder. Also, one coach is pushing hard for the changed halflings to come back.
The league can be found here, but so far only 4 games have been played:
http://home.worldonline.dk/nyskes/bbowl/VVL/vvl.htm
In conclusion, I do not think that any of these teams will dominate your league if you try them out.
If you do, I'd love to hear about your experiences with them.
Cheers
