FF is still important, and for a Chaosteam even more so if they start without Warriors.

As Chaos you will probably not win the first couple of games if you are not very good or very lucky. Not winning often means not scoring the 2 TD's as well.

This leaves you with a neat -2 or -3 (not doing 2 Cas) to FF rolls, meaning that your FF wil probably drop more than rise in the first couple of games.

I'm not saying it is so every time (hopefully not), but in the long run you will be way down on FF compared to teams that start with 8-9, and even though the mighty Invasion has been nerfed, you can still loose the game because of it, once more decreasing your FF if you are unlucky.

Besides that, I'm sure someone can post the statistics for high FF, as it allways pays of in the end... buying 4 Chaoswarriors with low FF (2) is a tough going, and teams like to play teams with high FF, so you will get more games with the team if it lives outside the league as well.

Just my two cents.

the new ko table IS so terrible that we are going to have to house rule get the ref, riot, and pitch invasion (22 dice rolls, what was it you said about reducing dice rolls mr vault?) though  :-?

Not to mention "Get the Ref" working for both sides now... while it might be more fair, it's definatly less fair to the combined players on the pitch.

Downscaling Pitch Invasion was a good thing though it takes ages to roll all the dice. Downscaling Riot was a good thing, since it sucks for everyone to have 6 rounds taken out of the game.

But why on earth did they decidede to include a "free foul for everyone"?

Well, I started this way and after 8 games I have all four of them. That +1 on the winnings is nog gonna make that much difference. But that's my opinion.

I would start with 3 CW because they develop slow due their movement. And they need their first skill really fast (I would choose block on a normal skill roll, on doubles I would take claw or RSC).

that's an average of 50k a game. if you are slightly unlucky on cash/gate rolls, and you play opponents with low FF, there is no way you can make that money. especially since i STRONGLY disbelieve a team made of 12 beastmen and 3 RR can win all their games.

Have you considered the khemri team?
Seems to better fit your goal.

:o Taking FF is economics. The kick off table was just the icing on the cake.

In general every point of FF takes around 6 games to repay itself, so if you play 8-9 games or more you will, on average, have a stronger team.

Draco - how were your winnings rolls? How many rerolls have you got now too? And did anyone die or get retired? I think you might have had a little luck to get them all that quickly.

I had a Chaos team that took 40+ games before it got the 4th CW (lots of deaths and a FF that didn't move).

True, I had good winnings rolls. And I had 2 dead beastman so far, but they have been replaced in the meanwhile.

So I can't complain about the luck there! :D

(Just that I started with wins, that is not normal, and now that I'm stronger I only loose! :o )
