Need suggestions for converting Warhammer Boyz to BB.
Looking for some professional advice here.
I am in the beginning stages of creating my orc team from Warhammer Fantasy orcs. I have 4 new Black Orcs for use as blockers. These are pretty easy to convert. Now I just need some help filling out the rest of the team from a box of 19 Boyz.
Anyone have any modelling suggestions for creating Linemen, Blitzers, and Throwers from a box of Warhammer Boyz?

Gizzurd, i mostly used 40k and Gorkamorka stuff for my orcteam. But for some of the supportstaff i used warhammer metal minis, too. Maybe you like to have a look at my website, if you dont knew about my orcteam yet.
section: BB projects... GD 2003 Orc team...
I bought the plastic Orcs, too. And sometimes, yes, sometimes in the future, i will build a StreetBowl orcteam, too.
The bases are finished already !

Throwers are "easy" in that you can give them the ball in one hand, in a sort-of throw pose. A bit of GS will go a long way, but a seperated (Human? Goblin? Elf?) head will do that also.
Blitzers should have a bit more armour then normal linemen, they have block (I guess armour on the shoulders will do fine). Or a sprinting-pose. Just make sure you pose them more or less the same, but different than the normal linemen.
And, I would use a pinvise (small handdrill) and paperclips for the "pin". Yes, even with plastics. It makes models a fair bit stronger, and you can pose them more easily without the fear they will break.
Go see travellers' webpage, some nice orkses there
.
Good luck !

Hmm, after looking through a box, I think I would either use those "funny hats" as heads for the blitzers, or the ones with the topknot. Helps them identifying on the board.
Maybe some ork"glyphs" (those thingies you can glue on the shields) on their backs, too. Dont know how that will look though.
Lineman can do without a helmet perhaps, you should do a count how much helmetted heads you have against non-helmetted heads. Give the throwers also heads that look the same, but not the same as the heads from the linemen.

I just recently posted how I converted an orc team using 40k and gorkamorka pieces like mr. traveller -
http://www.drunkdwarves.com/pages/galar ... fboyz.html
I think the 40k orcs make much better players than the fantasy ones

Thanks for the tips. Does the warhammer orcs box come with shoulder pads? If not, I have plasticard tubing to make some nice orkish ones w/ spikes for the blitzers. I didn't plan on giving the lineman any extra armor... so they should be pretty easy. So, if I beef up the blitzers w/ armor, helmets, and some dynamic pose, leave the linemen as standard (mostly), and give the thrower a ball, I should be in pretty good shape.
Also, I always weigh my plastic figs down w/ American Nickles. They are the largest & heaviest coin that can fit in the base... and they only cost 5c
.
Guess I'll have to work on my modelling and greening. I'll post some pics eventually to show how they are progressing and to get some feedback.
Oh yah, I've seen that orc team before. It kicks ass, but I can't afford to buy all the extra to do a conversion like that just yet. However, they do provide some great ideas that I can still use. Thanks for the link.
