6/5/5/8 vamp, suggestions for development?

Post by Ravage »

My vampire Angel (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=playe ... id=1749222) has skilled twice now, and received a +AG at first skill and now at 16 just got +ST. needless to say, I'm one very happy coach :D

But where to go with him? At this point I'm debating forgoing Pro (at least for a long while) and just turning him into an offensive or defensive monster and letting my RR's carry him when he lusts, but am not sure whether to rely on his ST, or his AG in terms of his future development. or let him balance a nice mix of both.

I have some thoughts, but am interested in what others think. Ideas? Cheers for the advice

I'd make him a monster blitzer: Block, Leap, Tackle, Mighty Blow. If he lives that long of course, which isn't very likely...

pro 1st, if good player be nice to use then most turns...
block 2nd will keep then alive longer...
sure feet 3rd! the amount of times a pro 5/5 player would blitz for me is silly, the extra squares of ma could make life so much more easy

So you want to know about the development of your 6 5 5 8 vampire?
I'd say:
- mng / niggling injury (next game)
- mng / -1ma (in 4 games)
- mng / -1st (in 6 games)
- death after a failed dodge as he was carrying the ball (in 10 games)

Very close to what I was thinking, except I've noticed that Vampires don't need leap. They can hypnogaze away most of their problems. AG 5 Hypnogaze is amazing, but guard makes it even better combined with ST 5. I'd go:

Block, Guard, Dodge, Pro. Stand Firm on Doubles.

Gaze is only any good for opening the cage for someone else now though. Leap would make him a cagebreaker on his own (and hopefully get him killed in the process ;) ).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

:o What I'd suggest is dirty player - for all your opponents and they should foul him at every opporunity.

I think I'm getting more bloodthirsty in my old age

Right, but a vampire team has no shortage of other 4 strength players, and if he gets block/guard he's going to be blocking the cage from advancing anyway.

well, it may or may not have been the best choice, but Angel skilled again and rolled doubles... I was really torn between Frenzy, Stand Firm, or just ignoring the doubles and taking Block. At the end, I decided frenzy would get me in too much trouble without Block, stand firm would be nice but since i rarely leave him in the fray would not be as helpful, and decided finally on Block to really help him serve his "sweeper" position I leave him in. Hoping it works out in the long run 8)
