bb05 dark elves ---- help :)

Post by MattRobson »

oki have finaly decided on the race im taking with me to this years bb! first it was chaos (then i remembered how bad they suck :)) then it was skaven, but then i painted a dark elf team for my girlfriend and unfortunatly i fell in love with them :) (sorry dee) so ive had a few practice games with this team :-

1 blitzer
2 witches
1 thrower
7 linemen
1 reroll
3 ff
2 cheerleaders (just because they were painted :))

so far a draw and a win both against dwarves...
im thinking about dropping the reroll and the ff and cheerleaders for an extra lineman.. what do you thnk?

I wouldn't drop the RR...You are going to roll a 1 when you don't want to (elven curse ya know)..

I would drop the thrower and the cheerleaders..I don't have the rules handy so I don't know what you could pick up in place of that...maybe a lineman and another RR?

I think you need more blitzers actually. Drop the cheerleaders and ff and upgrade some lino's.

I would go for the 4 blitzer 7 lineman and 2 RR lineup.

i think he needs at least 1 witch elf...they make the team run and gives the team access to the sideline.

thanks for the help so far... ive got another friendly tonight against khemri (i think) think im going to go for this setup:-

2 blitzers
2 witches
1 thrower
6 linemen
1 reroll
2 ff

i think this gives me a little more punch with the extra blitzer, but still gives me the flexability (litraly) with the witches, dodge and jump up are pretty helpful with running the ball, give them block and there pretty much game winners.. what do you think??

im wanting to keep atleast 1 witch in my squad as they pretty much make a dark elf team a dark elf team..

Having a second re-roll would be nice IMHO. The line-up you suggest is ok, but another to consider is:

2 blitzers
1 witch-elf
1 thrower
7 line-elves
2 re-rolls
1 ff

(I think that adds up!)

You'll need to protect the witch-elf... I can't see a way to get two and still have 2 re-rolls.

Well ... the witches dodge might well save several RRs throughout a half, dontcha think?

Though blocking without block skill mght very well cost one. :(

I think this is by far the best Dark Elf Lineup IMHO

you could go for 3 blizers and a thrower if you wanted to play the passing game. but witchelves are too expensive, too fragile and draw too much attention for Tournament play. all IMO of course :)

edit: and I would never go to a tournament with less than 2 RR

edit again: remember you will be getting skills during the tournament. I usually go for kick, DP on lineelves, dodge on a couple of the blitzers and block on a lineelf at the end to help the front line.

I have to agree. You're going to see a large sum of money go up in smoke from your AV 7, frenzying, no block witch elf. You're definately better off with a blitzer instead.

But wouldnt help giving her block after game one make it all much more reliable? Plus, you can actually frenzy opponents of the pitch?

Note that I am utter crap with DEs though, so only theoretizing (??? does a word like that exist ???) ...

I just don't think a thrower is a necessity on an elf team right off the bat. I would be more inclined to go with the 4 blitzer - rest lineman set up.

Your lineman are already better passers than most "throwers"

In theory, that sounds good. But you have to remember that most of the time they are going to be one die blocks, and with only 1 rr. It's a chancy poposistion at best.

Yup. That's why ditch the witch elf.
