After RR04: What should be the first trait for big guys?

Post by Hias »

Oh, I couldn't believe my luck: I've managed to role a double on my first treeman levle-up (in a WE-team).

Now, I'm torn by the choice: Pro or Block? I could'n find anything about this in the forum after the actual rulechanges.

So, what is your opinion?

And a question in this context: can nega-traits be reroled with Pro (I think, they can)?

I voted for Block because now you have not to worry about when making a block with the treeman.

I'm not sure if you can use pro to reroll the take root role but i would say yes. Although I would go for block!

I went block. The only thing you will be using a treeman for on a woodie team is to knock people down or get in their way...

Block all the way! If it was a Fling team I may go more for Pro

I voted block. Cause this will help the tree not falling down when blocked. You don't want a lying tree.

For a Tree definitely Pro: your Tree will be much more usable if it get's the chance to reroll take root. The chance to half the average amount of turns a tree usually spends idle during a match due to take root is much better than the higher chanc of successful blocking.

Ok, I' ve just seen, that my third choice did not find it's way in the poll. It was: "Neither of this two. I would take..."

But after all, I think Block and Pro are the most obvious choices. But feel free, to disagree in jour coments!

Personaly, I would tend to Pro, even if take root can not be reroled. I see the benefit of Block. But with Pro, you may rerole an unlucky block (with a 50% chance only, ofcause), wich will be a 2D, if not 3D. The math should favour this variante (oh, oh, stochastics is eons ago!). Hmm... but beeing blocked stays a problem....

Block for a tree on a wood elf team. Pro or even pass on a fling team.

My choices depends on the team:
Treeman in wood elves: block
Treeman in fling & troll in gobbo: one pass & one pro, pass first
Ogre, krox and troll: block
Mino & ratogre: tentackle
Beast: Stand firm

definitely pro IMO. prevent as many take root's as possible, and heck.... without block, you almost WANT someone to knock your tree over just so he wont be rooted anymore if he does stick
