gken1 - Thanks!
Lahatiel - Wow, thanks man!
traveller - Thanks traveller
The colors came from 2 sources really, That old data sheet for the orcs in the 2nd edition and the Oakland Raiders american football team - which are a bunch of dumb brutes very much like orcs!
dendron - Thanks!
JaM - Rock on man - glad to have yah as a reader.
Billster - Thanks, I've actually got a system down that makes painting these guys go pretty quick. I dont like spending days on a figure either. I always paint my figures in groups of 4-5, and can usually complete a group in a few hours.
narkotic - Most of the teams clothing, armor, etc. is the same color (black) because I wanted this team to look like an american football team, where a lot of the gear is all colored a uniform color. When I played football in high school, all of our pants, helmets, jerseys, etc. were all black, but some folks who supplied their own additional arms pads and such didn't worry about keeping them black. So what you had was each player looking slightly different with their own added splashes of white, yet we all looked like parts of the same team. I kept this kind of feel in my orc team by randomly picking out details in each model to be painted in different colors while keeping the overall feel intact. The stitching was left black or painted white on a whim, just like you might have black stiching on pants with white thightening strings - overall I think it makes a nice, rag-tag apperance, without making it too obvious.
Musta Surma - Thanks man, and I'll post the figs as I get them painted.
Tante Kaethe - Thanks!
OdoGoodgrubb - Thanks!
Sharky2k - Wow! Nice compliment, but to be fair theres tons of orc teams out there that look so much better
horekim - Thanks! Its all to easy to ruin a nice a dark black in a mini.

Holy Crap!
well, every year someone does a plastic Orc team and I think "seen it, done it. bought the T shirt.."
but this is just sublime... really awesome and well worth the effort you put in.. you have used a really simple palette and created a dark looking team.. I know how difficult chequers are to paint...
you do not paint like a drunk dwarf!

I am very impressed. The black is done very well. The skin and leather straps are shaded perfectly. I usually don't like all black but damn... you really pulled it off very well!!
