Alternative Rotters & Beast?

Post by peikko »

Im planning of doin a Nurgles Rotters team. Beastmen from WH Beastmen Region box but has someone made Rotters or Beast miniatures from some alternative choices? BB Rotters are just plain ugly and WH Beasts are strange looking lumps of lead.

Rackham has some nice looking minos on Living-dead of Acheron that look like mean and, well rotting, but how does these minis work in BB, are they scaled right to fit team with WH minis?

Any other ideas of making suitable looking rotters and beast?

I too am converting my own Nurgle team. Purely for costs (and the fact that I love to convert) I am also using the Beastmen Regiment set from Warhammer, along with some great old 2nd edition Nurgle champions that are no longer available, at least not in the states. I thought of trying to gather some of the really old GW Beastmen figs to convert, so that is something you could try (I think the older ones look better than the last couple of versions we’ve been given).

Rackham’s figs are typically too large when compared to GW’s Blood Bowl miniatures.
(now there’s something interesting: I can remember when GW had larger figs than anyone!) :P

Just don't tell it to the beast, it might be offended :)

Nice paintjob.

And for the topic: I'd say, WHFB-Beastmen are a good start for conversions. The Rotters could be anything from deamons to cave squigs, all your choice, they,re chaos after all ;)

Ya know what? I just found some real old Plague Bearers (first ones they ever made, I think) that I am going to use as my nurgle beastmen...so I guess I will use the Beastmen regiment for another Chaos Team! :P

I was looking for minis to paint the Spanish BB forum legacy team beast of nurgle, and I've found these minis....

Eldritch Demon and Devourer of Mashaf (Both are reaper minis...)

Goreth le massif (Rackham)

And, of course, the GW chaos spawn...

I think all the minis are a good choice :P ...

I like that devourer... very fitting for a beast of nurgle.

Have to say the GW Spawn s a ugly figure, and not in a "nurgle" way.
Never liked it from when they released it - the old ones were much better imo.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I think the GW spawn is cool, but not for nurgle.
Khorne would fit it better.

I get to show my beast again! :D

I have a spare I'm thinking of adding shoulderpads and knuckledusters to. I may be willing to part with it though. I also have several of the OLD BoNs seen at Stuff of Legends here:

and a few of the Great Unclean Ones Nark showed a few pics above. Lemme know if you're interested in anything I have.

If you can find it the World Maggot from the Rumble In Antarctica game was very Nurglish.

I can't seem to find a pic of it on the net though. Too bad. It's a nice fig. In fact, most of the GWAR minis were pretty nice...except the slaves but really, how you gonna make an interesting fig of a nearly naked underfed human?
