Fling Minis

Post by falconeyed »

Does anyone have any suggestions for flings / trees, outside of the cookie cutter GW versions? I've done a cursory google search and nothing really came up.

Related question: Flings are fun as hell on fumbbl ... but is it madness to sink cash into them for TT play?

TIA.

Some cool flings are made by Eureka Miniatures (in their Pax Limpopo line); they call them "pygmies of the lost world". They would need some converting, but I think it would be worth it. Then find some sort of "Jungle Monster" to be the treeman, and you got a unique team.

Those pygmies are actually surprisingly easy to convert - just a couple of simple weapon snips and they turn out looking quite fun... I used them as a make-shift lizard team for a while...

I just converted up one that I really like. I found this 20mm Roman Gladiator fig for $1 at a convention last weekend, kneecaped him and put some big bare feet on him. I'll try to get a camera and take a pic.....

If you want a cool treeman, you could get the Lord Of the Rings Treebeard.

He rocks.

As a treeman should. But if you put him on a normal monster base(like the others) you don't really have I problem I think.
