Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
Hmm... The 'Fangorn Falcons' sounds good, but it sounds a little too obvious to have called them falcons, with the place starting with f and all. The 'Mirkwood Unicorns' sounds more interesting.

I agree with Dave, a alliteration makes a team name catchy and gives it a good sound. It also must have a relationchip to the roots of the team.
So I voted for the Fangorn Falcons too.
I can also understand players who like funny teamnames, but those take the game, not to serious and in the end Blood Bowl still is a game!
We had a WE team in our last league called Agile and Fragile or AGFRAG for short (he won the Most Games)and was hated by everyone, there was even a collective team bounty on his wardancers
There are no Unicorns in Middle Earth, therefore Mirkwood Unicorns is out of the question (especially as Mirkwood describes the darker part of what was formerly called "Greenwood the Great"). It would have to be Woodelf Realm Unicorns (or Greenwood Unicorns) anyhow, I think.
I don't know if there are any falcons in Fangorn (or Middle Earth at all), but I do know that no elves have ever lived there, not even wood elves. Thus, even though it's the best name on the list theoretically, I would not recommend it, unless you don't mind being ridiculized for your choice.
My team name is along a similar 'vein' "Hardwood Rangers" with such great players as wardancer "Ivor Hardy", and the treeman "Deepwood"... I take my Blood Bowl VERY seriously
