Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

This real Human roster represents a professional sporting team. These Bretonnians are a ragtag bunch of soldiers, their man servants and peasants; the latter of which you clearly state have little BB experience, training or equipment.

Actually, I see it the other way, these are Brettoninans that honour the Lady of the Lake by playing BB, seeing (in the BB world) there aren't as many wars to fight in. So therefore, the Liege Lords have taken the time to train the players in the way of BB (though I agree they won't give equipment to the peasants).

Personally, although I disagree with some of the team make up (Guard and S on the Squires being the main one) I like the way this teams is/has headed.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Hi Darkson,
thanks. That's exactly what I've been trying to express.
Questing for the trophy is as honourable as questing for the grail.
The Knights go through (years of) proper BB training, and just like on a grail quest, their squires train with them and go with them.
Sure, the peasants aren't that well trained or equipped, but they should be all means be considered a pro team.

Cheers
Martin

BTW Darkson,
I know that you don't like guard/ST on squires.

I did ask at one point whether guard should be replaced with grab, and there were people on both sides of the fence. I stayed with guard because the team has already taken several power cuts. But I could have gone the other way, if feedback had been clearer.

About the ST-access I'm much less inclined to change. In my experience, if the team is to have any chance long term, then all of its 8 position players need to have access to something beyond general skills.
(For all I care, they could have had AG access: Skills to better get them into position to help out their leiges. Wouldn't want them to become catcher types though. Scoring is for knights.)

So, I understand your view, but unless a bit of playtest over the summer shows the starting team to be too strong, then I've come to the end of the design process.

Cheers :D

Hi MadJackal, DesTroy, Jeroen and Brownrob.
Thanks for your positive responses.
Stuff like this really makes me feel like we've come a long way, and that the process was well worth it.

Cheers all,
Martin

Not a problem, Plas! I haven't felt right about playing a "standard" humie team based in Bretonnia, so if this works out, I may very well create/play Bretonnians in my next league season (we're all starting out fresh, and I've suggested that Bretonnians [and some of the other Copenhagen team lists] should be house-ruled in). Best off, I wouldn't really have to alter my humie figs! :D

Variety is the spice of Blood Bowl!

Speaking of which, way back in 1988 (just before 2Ed came out), I had an idea for Roman humies...hmm...legionnaires, gladiators, etc...HMMM...

Hi DesTroy,
cool :D

I'll probably only be able to manage around 4 playtest games over the summer, so any feedback from real games would be much appriciated. If you do use this roster, please let me know your experiences.

Also, I'd be quite interested to know which (if any) of the CTR teams your league adopts (and why). Please PM me if/when there's any movement on that.
Cheers
