my best tip playing against humans is to watch the other teams play your team. What do they do to keep you from scoring?
second, glue blitzers??? isnt that expensive? if i were the human coach i'd just love it, i would always get the 2dice blocks on them, having no hurry to the endzone at all.
Better is the usual elfven tac, to always dodge only one square, instead of gluing them, close the door for them.
third, always make a threat to the ball carrier. If it is their thrower, get your wardancer somewhere near the ball and the endzone. Make the poor thrower making a dangerous throw, just to get the ball out of there.
with these 2 tactics, your opponent must make 2 blitz, your wardancer (who is a threat to the thrower) and make a gap in your linos (to run in and score).
And off course, always blitz those tiny little thrower, remember you only need 3 linos to make 3dice blitz.
ps. he could only have 4 human blitzers.
ah, and one more thing. Get the ent!! So you at least has one losblocker!

They don't do it, at least not very well. They are even worse at blood bowl than me. The human team has won all of his games except for our first encounter, which I won.Olsson wrote:my best tip playing against humans is to watch the other teams play your team. But he will always get through with da blitzas. If I glue them with 2 of my players, he'll need 3 men to get a 2 dice block. And he won't do that with all of his men because that is too risky, he'll leave the field too openOlsson wrote:second, glue blitzers??? isnt that expensive? if i were the human coach i'd just love it, i would always get the 2dice blocks on them, having no hurry to the endzone at all.

you mean catchers?Olsson wrote:And off course, always blitz those tiny little thrower, remember you only need 3 linos to make 3dice blitz.

Get it?OverDose wrote:They have 5 blitzers (1 lino with a +Ma and block)
I'll consider it, right now I want a second wardancer, he's more versatileOlsson wrote:ah, and one more thing. Get the ent!! So you at least has one losblocker!

You might also want to consider to use a defensive line up that will cause him trouble to get into scoring position on the first turn. Here's one I regarly use to great effect:
Of course the risk is that he might start a cage when he cannot find an easy way through

I've been using this kind of a formation, but yours really looks much better. At least if I had two WDs and 4 Catchers..

Those are the places where you your wardancers and catchers are best put. I like the catchers in the wings, they can rush in your opponents half quite a bit and pick up any ball he might not. The position of the wardancers is just outside thw wings, because those are the easiest positions to attack. But the position also runs the risk of being blitzed. This is also the place where you want to put liners with kick. It is always an idea to keep your wardancer in a central location, as he poses the biggest risk to the ball carrier. If I have sidestepping catchers the can go on the most left and right positions.

^ I tried your formation, but I couldn't hold the humans, not even for three measy rounds. So I tried the "peg-back" kind of playing style, which worked fine for the first half. I chose to kick the ball, he scored in two rounds and after that I stalled the best I could and scored a round 7 TD. So for the first half it was a tie, 3 elves in my K.O. box and 1 seriously injured player. I had no reserve players, so it kind of sucked. Luckily I managed to recoup with all of my K.O'd players, so I tried to score early on, and I pulled off a second round TD. Then the humans scored again, and I had 4 rounds to receive. But at this time I had 2 seriously injured players, and 3 in the K.O's, so I had to attack with only 6 players, and I couldn't protect my ball-carrier well enough so I got scored on. 3-2. So close...
Well I did manage to pull off 4 SPR's but no doubles or 10-12 so far... I took a dodge for a lino, block for other, accurate for thrower, and a sidestep for my wardancer, I'm gonna take the tackle on another player, I just couldn't resist the sidestep.
Oh yeah, and I rolled 1 and got only 20 k of cash, so I bought meself a catcher. 0 in the treasury (again) but I'm counting on my luck so I could get the second WD after 2 rounds.
