Halfling team
Kicking around this for an eventual league play:
Something I'm kicking around:
15 halfings
1 treeman
Master chef
Apothocary
9 Fan factor
3 rerolls
20k left over.....
Alternatively, I could drop a halfling, a reroll and buy a second treeman....

The Halfling Playbook is available in the Archives section.
I think Duke Jan is referring to Galak's standard advice on starting a Halfling team ... which is:

2 Trees
Deeproot Strongbranch freebooted

60k in the bank
Use the 60k to buy extra ingredients to bleed your opponent dry of rerolls for your first game.

This starting roster is gospel as far as flings are concerned. I had it with my fling fumbbl team and I won 1-0. My fumbbl flings are 5/5/3, and I routinely go to Galak's fling strategy article for help. I'm still waiting for the day that I can hire Deeproot again ... he's a juggernaut.

No one should be honored for doing what is expected.

Huh?carmachu wrote:As an aside, with 60k extra, should I buy the master chef to start?
If you are playing LRB 4.0 rules ... the Master Chef is always on your team for free giving you one free 2+ roll to take re-rolls from your opponent per a half. The 60k gives you money to buy EXTRA rolls for the Master Chef.
Please also remember that Halfling Master Chef rolls give you a re-roll even IF your opponent has none left.

just my 2 cents: this guide is indeed full of very good advice. i heavily based my play on it with my FUMBBL flings, resulting in a 6/1/2 record, and a CAS difference of +13 (so, i caused 13 CAS more than i received, out of 9 games).
honestly, this is not very hard to do on FUMBBL, but i have yet to try it in a scheduled league. obviously, i don't think i'd fare that well (especially if they have a Dwarf team =D).
anyway, the point is: follow Galak's advice on it and you'll be a fling champ =)

our league is running with whatever rules are in the maindownload only. those updates are labeled experimental, and not allowed.

Incorrect. In the main download, the Master Chef is free for your team and extra rolls cost 20k.carmachu wrote:no.GalakStarscraper wrote:Huh?carmachu wrote:As an aside, with 60k extra, should I buy the master chef to start?
